    Hey guys, my keyboard backlight keeps getting reset to whatever it's set at in Synapse after I wake it up. In Synapse, the dimmest setting is 33%, which is still too bright for me, so I manually dim it one or two steps above "off" with the F10/F11 keys (on the Kaby Lake RBS). This started happening recently, I also just updated my firmware to 6.50, but I'm 99% sure that it's Synapse, since it doesn't happen when I close it. IIRC Synapse also updated recently (I'm on 2.20). Is this happening to others? And by the way, why doesn't Synapse allow lower than 33% brightness, considering that it's very bright still, and to me even there's more difference between the real minimum and 33%, than between "dim" (33%) and "bright" (100%).

    Yes! But im on a blade 1060. After the last update my keyboard resets to 33%. Prior to the update I always had it lower after adjusting the brightness with the Fn key when I set up my lighting profile. It was always lower than 33 as a default.

    So before even after a restart or shutdown it was always at 10-15%. Now it is always at the "dim" 33% and I have to adjust it lower everytime.

    Thanks for the report. So then it appears that it's an issue of Synapse. I'm relieved it wasn't the BIOS. Hopefully they fix this bug soon.

  4. I've noticed this on my Late 2016 1060 Blade too, it also occurs when I plug or unplug the power adapter. It seems that the keyboard backlighting resets towards the value in the Synapse lighting setting independent of any change made with the fn keys.

    Updated the Synapse client today, though still showing 2.20, and this was not fixed. I could be good with this if Synapse actually allowed to lower the lighting to its real minimum.

    BTW, anyone know how to check the build number?

    Id be happy if they can just adjust the lowest to 10% or 20%. Or let us users set the default?

    33% is just a little too high for a "low" default.

    I managed to fix this issue! The problem is that in the Synapse configuration, the minimum brightness is set to 33.

    It can easily be changed in the file LightingMaintenance.xml, in my case it is located in "C:\ProgramData\Razer\Synapse\Devices\Blade 6\UIXml\Blade 6\".
    First exit the Synapse app, and then open LightingMaintenance.xml in notepad and find this line:
    Code:
    <HSLIDERM name="SLIDER_LED_BRIGHTNESS_HAZEL" trackid="BITMAP_BRIGHTNESS_SETTINGS" min="33" max="100" loffset="8" roffset="18">
    change min="33" to min="0"
    and also do the same thing for the line:
    Code:
    <HSLIDERM name="SLIDER_LED_BRIGHTNESS_HAZEL2" trackid="BITMAP_BRIGHTNESS_SETTINGS2" min="33" max="100" loffset="8" roffset="18">
    One is for the brightness while on battery, and the other one when plugged in.

    After changing save, and restart Synapse, and you will see that sliders can now go all the way to 0, and the settings will persist after sleep/shutdown. Voila!

    PS: I hope Razer fixes this automatically in the next update.

  10. I can't find the "devices" under synapse? Is this because I have an Razer Blade stealth? Would love to fix this stupid bug..

    Hmmm, idk, could be. Try searching for LightingMaintenance.xml under C:\ProgramData\Razer\ maybe it's in a different place...

  12. I have checked all folders ans searched for it, it doesn't seem to be there :/

    Is your Synapse updated to the latest version 2.20?

    thanks, so weird that it ships like this by default. I was trying to figure this out. Like "why is the minimum still super bright". I think the keys look best at 10-20%. Less tacky, more subtle.

    Im having lots of issues with the new synapse software. Mine are when i open it up to wake from sleep the lights just stay off until i fully power it off. Uninstalled the software, and a few other things.. and its working fine with no software. So there are absolutely issues with the newest version of synapse.
