League of Legends New Champ Ornn Insights & Thoughts.

Discussion in 'League of Legends Talk' started by Nivuu, Aug 31, 2017.

Is Ornn going to be a top-tier Toplaner (see the pun)

  1. Definately not! Hes terrible.

  2. Maybe, he looks interesting and surely has potential.

  3. No, but he will remain viable in some scenarios.

  4. Yes! I think he will surpass all over champions and remain on top!

Sooo, the new champ recently came out and I've seen some mixed opinions on his kit and the way he fits into the current meta and I wanted to hear what you guys think of him.

Ornn has quite an unusual playstyle as he has a passive which allows him to purchase items no matter where he is on the map, this could be a bad or a good thing since it can change his power spike and damage curve in lane which WILL lead to toplane changing its playstyle around him to be more abusive.

    Ornn's abilities:
His Q is a linear skillshot that explodes at the end of its travel and creates a temporary bit of terrain, like a Trundle pillar that interacts with his kit and deals damage.

    His W
is probably one of the more unusual things about him, a flamethrower? In which he is unstopabble in any way and deals damage over time and also adds a new mechanic into the game called 'Brittle'. Brittle is an on hit effect in which enemies suffer a portion of their maximum health as bonus damage when struck by immobilizing effects. Immobilizing effects also last longer when used on Brittle enemies. Pretty crazy huh?

His E is a medium ranged charge that deals damage if hit. Also, when you use E into terrain you knock up and deal extra damage in a circle around Ornn on impact, this also works with his Q.

And finally his R which intrigued me the most when I first saw it, Ornn summons a huge fire elemental Ram at a target location. It then travels toward him with increasing speed. Enemies run over by the elemental take magic damage and become Brittle. Ornn can then recast the ability to charge forward. If he strikes the elemental with the charge, he'll redirect it. The redirected elemental will then knock up all struck enemies, dealing the same damage as before and applying the Brittle effect.

A super cool concept for a champ in League and I really do think he will be strong in some time, but knowing how things are going at the moment he will be in a pretty weird place, neither strong or weak. What do you think? Make sure to write down below :D

See you on the rift ;)

Well, Ornn has come on to the rift in a little underwhelming manner. His Q as mentioned is a liner skill shot, which doesn't do much damage. The slow is useful and the pillar formed at the end can be used in synergy with his E. His W is one of the most interesting abilities in the game is what I think. His Ultimate is a little tough to master, there have been a few instances when I have missed the headbutt xD .Honestly, I think he needs a few buffs to his Q and his Ult. Fun to play, his upgraded items are cool!

I think he still needs some tweaks. 30%+- win rate is the lowest i've seen.
For what i've seen people is playing him a lot as big frontliner going 1v5 but with no kill pressure. As soon as people play him more as a peeler/disrupt champ i believe he will be fine. Not op. Not as bad as it seems now.

    • Well Ornn is getting some pretty good buffs this patch(7.19), his W has increased range and now deals percentage damage of max health instead of current health, and his Q pillar now pops up at 1.125 seconds instead of 1.25 and the pillar now pushes enemies on top of it forward. His special items are now being tweaked a bit. His Ult's movement speed has also been increased(the ram).

i think that if we have a tanky composition Orn is so good choice because of his passvie. The improve items for tankys are better than the others.
