Guys, the new jungle is hard. It's so easy to get executed now, and it requires you to gank lots, which isn't a problem because junglers need to gank. But it also punishes you for staying too long in the jungle. How do I need to play to adapt?

Still working on learning that myself, but I've picked up more work shifts so I haven't had much time. 3 things though from limited time played.

    1) I believe there are 4 items for the jungle now opposed to 2. Need to pick the appropriate one for style of play.
    2) Before you could jungle without the leash. It's needed much more especially if you can't heal.
    3) Seen multiple players state that Warwick was op now.

Any high sustain junglers do the trick. For now WarWick seems permabanned atm. So i just spam Nunu, he is really good if you get a chance to counterjungle with him

Eh it kind of depends on the champ. Champs with high sustain can stay in the jungle for a long time but squishier jungles will probably have to base after taking their buff mobs. A good starting strategy is smiting the Gromp (giant toad thing) which gives you a buff that deals damage to attackers, and then killing it then going for your blue since smiting your blue isn't going to do much since smiting it just gives back mana.

By the time you walk to red buff your smite should almost be off cd which is good cause smiting that sucker gives you hp. After that you have to consider if you want to try and make a play somewhere or take one more camp if you're something like Kha'zix or Vi since you can pretty much only take out one more camp with them before you need to base.

Honestly after the first base and once you've gotten your jungle item it gets much easier to clear. The really big thing about the new jungle that I should've mentioned first is that smiting the boss of each camp gives a different buff. Like I already mention with red/blue and gromp. Chickens gives you an oracle buff that will alert you and reveal the first enemy ward you come across that is useful for when you're thinking of making a gank and not sure if they have wards up or not. Wolves summons a little goo thing that sits in that intersection by your blue buff and will follow enemies that get near it. Golems gives you that ability to stun jungle creeps every few hits.

The other important thing of course is getting that dragon asap since now it gives buffs for each kill instead of global gold. For the most part though you just sorta have to play and get a feel for what's best.

Play WW if you want to get a noobish solution. For any other champ,
    Blue Side:
    • start with Krugs, smite them
    • Take Red without smite
    • if you have less than 50% hp then do wolves else go Blue
    • go to base
    • gank
    • Keep ganking to keep your level along with others else you will fall behind.
    Purple Side:
    • Start with that ugly frog, smite it
    • Take Blue without smite
    • go to red when you are sure you will have smite ready just when you are very low on hp, smite to get huge amount of hp back and finish
    • Gank depending on your hp
Masteries: use the summoner spell 10% cdr
Machette upgrade: smite's cooldown reduced by 15sec and stuns and damages surrounding enemies for 1.5 sec. You will need it very much because this plus that masteries means that you have only 41sec cooldown on smite.

I will still go with smiting Krugs because of the stun

It's kinda lame that most jungles that were viable before aren't anymore. If they don't have some kind of sustain they are not going to do well. Though it's important to get a good leash on gromp and blue.

I learned the new jungle by starting with Warwick, it really helped me out and then I transitioned to other champions with a little less life steal.

Warwick is really in right now because of his sustain in jungle, but I've been playing Lee Sin in jungle with the Ranger's Trailblazer for sustain. After you get a little sustain or great damage (I get a Hydra) you should be good.

WW is good but not so good now after his nerf on W duration. Rek'Sai is good, Yi, Aatrox(he can solo dragon at level 5 with only 1 item ;) ), Lee is good Elise is not bad either.

I don't prefer to play as Warwick and I haven't been keeping up on the updates, but Aatrox is one of my favorite. His sustain is great and he is so situation.

i think the new jungle as a jungler makes me wanna stay in the jungle more, the buffs, the low cd on smite and the teammates sucking in lane

I never did much of the old jungle, but I did give the new jungle a try with Rek'Sai's release. I often skip picking up a red/blue buff until I come back from base because they do so much damage. Given a good opportunity, seems like I can wipe out Frog->Wolves->Raptors then gank at ~60% health.+Lv3, go buy(regardless of kill) pick up jungle item then straight to red.

Although i'm sure not every jungle can do the same path. Probably need to experiement with each champion and find out a good start. But the new jungle definately seems much harder to start in the jungle, and stay there for all early game. Unless you pick someone with a godly sustain like WW

I'm only Silver, so what do I know? XD

Nocturne has quite good sustain with his passive in the new jungle

yeah I totally forgot about him. He is good too.
@Zhuril : With Rek'Sai I go to (Q)Krugs(smite) -> (W)Red(no smite) -> Wolves(smite) -> ward blue and either gank or go to base as you will be level 3 by now with just above 50%hp. Now you can continue to clear camps if you want by taking the crab and go to Mr. Froggy(Smite) or you can counter jungle and kill the enemy jungler. ;)

  18. TBH, I don't like the change because it just makes people have to re learn it. On the flip side, it's a lot more balanced.

It is not hard once you get enough practice. I can help you with jungling if you want, just add me in LoL.The new jungle has brought about lot of balance in the game by giving junglers and laners more responsibilities, new objectives like dragon buffs, crabs, etc.
