Best ones I find are the Kraken 7.1 V2's, I have had mine for a year and a half with no issues other then software issues with Synapse 2.
The Man O Wars do have some issues where they break, so I would stay away from them in general.
From what I have heard the new Tiamats are pretty good, along with the thresher series too. Overall the Kraken 7.1's are the best for the money I find, or the Kraken Pro V2's if you don't mind not having the surround sound, a worse microphone and no chroma / software support, but would rather having the 3.5mm jack instead.

Hmm, I thought they had the same mic until I saw this. Had to go and look, and then research a bit.

    Saw this.

So, yeah, better mic on the Kraken 7.1s. You learn something new every day.

(For myself, when I had a choice of headset to buy, I went with the Kraken Pro v2, but I picked it over a USB headset because I wanted to try to plug it into the pro comms units I use for work all the time. Still haven't gotten it to work, but I'll work it out someday.)

A Microphone is not the problem.
I'm using a 3rd party one right now i may not even use the mic that much.

Purely for the sound quality, build quality and the goddamn softnes of these Ear Coushins, the choice is still on the Kraken Pro v2 7.1 for me. Clear sound with premium quality of bass, the sorrund makes shooter games very easy to point out where the souns are coming from,as for the comfort i sometimes forgett that i am wearing this Headset at all! I rlly dont have to compare the softnes of theese Ear Coushins they are like from heaven. It has an Aluminium frame and is very good build (Wont break so easy like the ones of plastic). I have mine in White.

I like my Gunmetal Razer Kraken 7.1 V2 but it's a little hard to recommend a Razer headphone right now since none of them are Synapse 3 compatible and from what I heard, the Kraken V2 never will be. You would be forced to use two versions of Synapse and won't be able to sync between different peripherals if you're using a newer product.

Who knows, maybe Razer will announce a new headset... maybe a ManO'War V2?

I'm pretty sure they'll make the Kraken V2 Synapse 3 compatable

Well you didn't mention a budget so the Tiamat 2.2 or 7.1. The Kraken 7.1 just uses some slightly more sensitive drivers than the 2ch version and is still reliant on software for the sim surround it produces. The Tiamats are better than the Kraken headsets in every measurable way from the mic to the quality of materials used. If you opt for the 7.1 version you get independent drivers but you will need a sound card to properly power the device. IMO the 2.2 with some good software like Nahimic 2+ is a pretty nice setup that is still versatile enough to be used for gaming and media consumption. The 7.1 version however is not gonna sound that good when say playing just music.

Well i got everything from razer, except the headphones. There are just much better ones available from other brands.
The sound quality is just miles away from my headset, what is sad because i would like to have everything with chroma...

You do have to deal with the gaming tax (aesthetics over function) when it comes to headsets from almost any brand. Something like a Philips SHP9500S and a snowball mic will out do gaming gaming headsets costing twice as much. Now if you up your game and buy something like a Sennheiser HD 6XX (650) with support from a pre amp and amp combo like a Schiit Stack (Modi 2 + Magni 3) you will have something leagues above what gaming companies offer.

I have Kraken 7.1 v2 and for price i do like it and all the software things included and it is pretty good for gaming / chatting. But now as my Amp broke and i have been using headsets only for movies, etc. I noticed that those are not enough and i thought why i didn't purchase Tiamat 7.1 v2 instead :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye_:

Depending on your usage i think Kraken 7.1 v2 is pretty good headset for gaming/chat but if you plan to watch movies etc. with headphones i would recommend Tiamat 7.1 v2.

A great family is the best durability label i've ever know.^^
