Guys of Razer, come on... you have to do something with MAC Gamers.
Yeah yeah, we know it is the wrong platform to play, but what about people that need a Macbook for another specific purpose and want to play with it? Last Macbooks run quiet well a lot of AAA games, I think it is enough to invest some time on them, don't you?

Right now there's no way for me to use a Razer Device on my Macbook, becase Synapse 2 just doesn't run on Mojave, even enabling it on Security options, and Synapse 3 is not available for MAC, so... I have a 400$ Keyboard and Mouse being used as they worth 20$, not macros, nor lights setup, nothing.

You have to do something with this guys, it isn't just fair. I'm not asking for Synapse 3 on MAC, I can understand it's a hard task, even when it already took a lot of time, but at least you have to upgrade Synapse 2 to fix the issues MAC users are suffering.

I'm not gonna say things like "I wont buy another Razer Device, blah blah", because honestly, I tried another brands and I prefer this one, but I have to admit I'm really disappointed with the treat you're giving to us.

Thanks for reading,
Alex

Hey, Alex, I'm just curious what peripherals you're running on your MacBook right now.

I ask, because I'm currently typing this on my Blackwidow Chroma Stealth (with full Chroma going on) and also using my Naga Epic Chroma (with all my key bindings) to navigate. I'm currently using Synapse 1.85.2 (I know it says 1, but it's the Synapse 2 for Mac), and running Mojave 10.14.1 on my mid-2014 MacBook Pro.
Sure, no problem at all.

I'm using a Blackwidow X Chroma and a Naga Epic Chroma.
As you can see, they're not precisely the new arrivals, which I would understand to have a few minor issues until software get patched.

It's not like I'm not able to use the devices at all, maybe I didn't explain well enough, it's that I can't run Synapse without its processes using 90% of my 16gb ram (RzDeviceEngine & RzUpdater), and not before having to run those processes in order for the app to open. Yes, I can run the app, but I cannot use it at all.

I would love to know how you fixed it, because I've already try reinstalling SO, besides doing the same with Synapse, a dozen times, maybe. Unless you tell me it worked from day one, which would be really outstanding, since there are a lot of people waiting for a fix.

Cheers.

EDIT: The computer is a Macbook Pro Retina with Touch ID from last 2017, and the Synapse version is the same than you, 1.85.2 (I'm aware about the missmatching of version name), which hasn't been updated for quiet a while, imho.

I'm trying to think of anything in particular that I've done to make it work, but I actually haven't had any massive issues with Mojave. I didn't update right away, at least not until Razer said that Synapse was ready to work with the new OS.

Currently, those processes you mentioned are taking up less than 5% of my CPU usage each (my work stuff is usually pretty CPU intensive), and only about 2% of my 16GB RAM.

I've been using Synapse for Mac all the way since early 2016, and have been archiving the updates since Feb 2017. There have been issues along the way (that's why I started archiving the updates, so I could roll back to a working version), but I'm an extremely patient guy, so overall it's been an enjoyable experience for me (I have to add that I'm a child of the 80s and probably have a completely different relationship with technology that a lot of people on here).

Admittedly, I stopped looking at the newer Apple laptops when I started using Razer gear, especially after Apple got rid of anything but USB-C — I thought Razer's "SD" post was hilarious — so I don't really know the differences under the hood between your machine and mine. There is probably somebody on the support team who would be able to help you look into your issue with Mojave, Synapse, and your peripherals.

@Razer.FatKidWanderer , do you think you can point @Alex-182 in the right direction with this, or get him in touch with somebody who could help out?

**Your post got me thinking, though, and now I have some questions because I know NOTHING about software development, so I hope that somebody with some insight — not necessarily from Razer — could fill me in.

1) When developing multi-platform software, is the development company expected to have the latest and greatest machines for all platforms they are developing for, even if their main user base is on a specific platform or operating system? For example, is Razer pretty much expected to own the latest Apple laptops and desktop computers for testing; do they have to keep buying a competitors products for this purpose?

2) If they ARE expected to own competitor products for testing, are they expected to own multiples of those products, so that when errors or bugs are found, they can see if they are because of faulty hardware?

3) Are they also expected to keep a competitor's legacy products for the same purpose?

4) @Alex-182, do you feel like I just hijacked your post? (Hope not - just trying to possibly further a discussion about the expectations and ramifications of a company developing software and hardware for use on a competitor's proprietary operating system)
Hi there, @Alex-182! Allow me to assist you with this. Can you send me a PM together with a video where you try to open the Razer Synapse on your Mac computer? Let's continue from there.

Thanks @PT.Singer for tagging me.

I need a Macbook for another specific purpose and want to play with it too but i had similllar problem and wanna say that you should look for a reason using reviews of Macbook, probably it can be hard drives problem. I prefer Razor device and also can use others. But Razer has nothing to do with it. I can tell it again: check reviews and you gonna find the right solution. Hello, @Razer.FatKidWanderer ,

Sorry I didn't answer before, I've been very busy and couldn't login for a while.

The reason I'm answering today is that suddenly an update popped up and the software it's now running smoothly, without the memory leaks. I still have to open the RzUpdater file (...library/application support/razer...) in order for the client to open, I searched if that file is blocked by firewall or another app, but it isn't, and it doesn't execute even adding it to the "start" folder. I guess the client doesn't show up if it doesn't see that file when checking. But I don't really care about this issue, just added a shortcut to desktop and solved.

My current version is 1.85.2, I couldn't find the versions history to check the launch date, but it probably isn't recent, can you confirm it, please? Will check for memory consumption from now on.

Thank you very much for your attention.

Alex.
Thanks for the update. The one you got is the latest version of your Razer Synapse for MacOSX. Feel free to reach us if you have other questions.
