I know most of us are PC gamers, but I was wondering if anyone wanted to have a conversation about Magic. What formats do you enjoy most? What decks do you find most appealing? Have a sick collection?

The only time I play Magic is on Steam when I play the game, and I'm really not very good. lol
However, my son played a lot, even did a few tournaments. It's great game!!

I really enjoy it! I probably spend too much money on it, but if it makes me happy, there's no harm, right?

The onlky harm is when you become bankrypt and live in a cardboard box. But at least it was fun, right? jk jk
I always enjoy spending money on fun things.

I won't let it get to that point, ha! And if it ever does, I can still sell my cards!

I was getting into it really good, but got tired of the all the people who would always win.. and one cheater, at the card shop we would visit. I love playing a green deck and I got to say 2012 was my favorite. Just slowing selling all the cards now when I have time to list them as we do not have anyone else to play with.

I started during the Third Edition and had a pretty good collection before one of my teachers confiscated the lot, called it Satanic and had them destroyed.

I never recovered from the trauma of seeing my dual lands get torn up in front of me.

 no doubt! I have been lucky to keep my set over the years... I have some as far back as dark and alpha... sad I cant seem to find anyone to play the old school (HA) version anymore...

Just sad and terrible. I see all games as tools for leaning and stress relief. It reminds me how we refurbish a the first gen of the gameboy and gave it to our friend who is a veteran and has PTSD. We found a Tetris game and he still has it even after moving too northern New Mexico.

Ive been playing on and off for years. Just dug the cards back out again and am now trying to convince the Brother-in-law to start playing :)
  11. Oh the humanity! I've been playing for about a year now and am really starting to like it. I've probably spent too much on it though. I'm currently playing a legacy elf deck.

I'm a very big fan of Blue and green. What i consider my best deck is based around green cards to get a bunch of mana out quickly (blue and green) all while holding off with smaller creatures, with abilities to get more mana out... Then once I have enough start laying out my big creatures. Specifically get out Lothros tide maker, Which lets me tap 8 permanents when he attacks.
    My friends hate it :)

Used to play in vintage tournaments when I was in school. I started because a lot of my friends were playing and said I should come and play. What they didn't tell me is the local comic shop catered to the highest ranked vintage players at the time, including my friends. Baptism by fire...

Never understood the people who spent so much on the game. Had friends how spent hundreds on single cards, only to beg for change to get across the toll bridge. To prove a point I built a deck under $20 with no real win condition just to annoy them, and beat them. I still use that deck =P

    I h
I have a $30 legacy deck that wins on turn two. If it doesn't win turn 2, it loses, though.

Oh my gosh, I had to "like" the post because it's meaningful to anyone who's played ... but that's terrible!!! It's so unfortunate when people think they need to enforce their beliefs on others like that. So sad, indeed.

My son's job closed a couple months back and because he needed to make rent he had to sell some of his magic cards. Whatever he sold net roughly $1000 for him, which is great -- but that was painful. Sadly, I wasn't in a position to pay his bills at that point because my husband and I had just bought him a car earlier in the year.
  17. I miss Magic, its what kept me sane through college. I have been playing since I was very young and now that I have to be a responsible adult have no time to make it to tournaments. I actually haven't even met anyone around here that even plays..I'd go back to school just to be able to have the time and people to play with.

Yeah, it's one of the things I enjoy the most when I have time to play. Being an adult can be hard on your gaming life.
  19. Yeah...I've been realizing that..the last game I had time to get excited about was Dark Souls II but that's for another post. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
