I've been waiting for the PC version of Monster Hunter World since it launched on consoles so I can play it in 60FPS (Just didnt get on with the framerates on the PS4 demo)
Since it released it kinda ran ok on my 17" Blade Pro Full HD with GTX1060 and i7-7700HQ but I have Razer Core with a GTX1080Ti and use an external monitor running the game at 1080p and high settings. Framerate was ok but still not a solid 60 and I was left a little disappointed. Then nvidia drivers updated and the performance dropped. I was too lazy to roll back drivers and just waited for another driver update and maybe some updates on the game itself. Now a couple of updates later I try to play the game again.

No matter what I do and even on the main menu the game has intermittent drops in framerate... Even on the menu screen. Its running at 60FPS and every 10 seconds or so dips down to 30s, sometimes 20s... I even try turning off Ambient Occulusion, AA, Anisotropic Filtering etc but the same results. Its at full 60 then every few seconds it massively drops down to the 20s and 30s... Now I am wondering what is causing this despite tweaking the graphical settings the same results. So I try playing it on the GTX1060 and not the 1080Ti via the core. It improved greatly... but now on 1060 GPU so forced to turn a few things off.

Is the game just poorly optimised? I think so. Is the TB3 connection with the Core also a cause of the issue. I think so too.

I am just wondering if any other Razer Core users are finding dips in framerates on this game while using the core (even with an external monitor)???

If any other core users are playing MHW then please let me know how you are finding it!

    Thanks

Yes it’s still not well optimized, I play with 2080 on 1440 60fps lock with Blade 15 as the host, and dropped in some areas and scenes to 40ish, tried 1080p also down to that 40ish and quite noticeable. Though there’s some FPS gain on 1080p, but it isn’t as crispy as 1440p.
