Mouse Scroll Wheel Jumps Up and Down

Hi everyone, I've been using Razer DeathAdder Essential mouse for couple of months on my Lenovo laptop. This week when I try to use scroll wheel it started to jump up and down.
For example: I try to scroll down in Chrome browser but it jumps 2 up then 1 down (and vice versa) chaotically. Similar thing happens in other applications as well.

Things I tried so far:

  • Tested in another USB socket
  • Tested in another Laptop
  • Updated Razer Synapse app, tried. Uninstalled, tried. Reinstalled, tried.

  • Updated Windows 10 Pro and GPU drivers (RTX 4000)

Thanks in advance.

Try blowing some compressed air inside scroll wheel (left side of it). Maybe encoder is dirty.
I don't have a device to blow compressed air but I blow stongly with my mouth, problem still continues. I don't think dust etc. will cause any problem because I use it in a clean environment.

If you don't have warranty you can disassembly it and "manually" clean the scroll encoder. Even in clean environment some dust can cause interruptions.

If manually cleaning doesn't help - encoder may be faulty and needs replacement (soldering new one).

That's odd. I appreciate your effort in doing those troubleshooting steps. Please consider firmware updates by performing these troubleshooting steps to fix the mouse. Should the problem persists, please PM me your device's serial number to look for other possible fixes. Let's pick up from there.

Thank you for helping @FiszPL.
