MX150 Stealth owners deserve some respect.

Razer laptop are expensive. We shouldn't have to pay an additional 100$ to get a proper power adapter for our device just because the one included in the box is too weak.
It is my staunch belief that Razer owes us a free 100w charger. This should fall under warranty: it may not be a device defect so to speak, but it is an overstep on Razer's part that causes the device not to function as it should, and not to charge properly.

Yes, I'm with you. It could be a little stronger. At least that it does not discharge when you play under load, for example, but keeps the battery at least on the capacity.
But unfortunately, this is not only the case with Razer. At Microsoft, just like that. Have another Surface Book 2. Same problem. So I have an external power supply with which I also charge my stealth.

Have you updated the BIOS and EC firmware? They're meant to address the discharge issue.

...though I still agree, the power adapter solution on these is not great. Two out of the three units I've had, the charger was incredibly loose, and mine often disconnects and stops charging if the cord or the table it's on are bumped.

After a month of arguing by e-mail, Razer told me they would fix the issue by disabling creator mode on my laptop.
Is this a joke?
hmm yeah. Since the new RBS gtx1650 version is - allegedly- shipping with a 100W USB C PD brick (can any of the lucky guys confirm?) - so the solution is right at their disposal - I can agree that this would be a really welcome and complaisant move by Razer to give them out to MX150 version owners. But I am afraid that is not going to happen. So far this new 100W adapter is also not available for sale on thei spare part section...

Btw I am running newest BIOS and EC versions by default, since it already shipped with them installed but the battery drain under heavy load is still happening. When attached to my Razer Core X with 100W PD, it doesn't. Which completely proves that the bundled brick is just a little to weak.

Hi
Natürlich, Update, Firmware,Bios alles aktuell. Bzw. Update gibt es seit July ja auch keine mehr für das Stealth. Scheint bereits jetzt Obsolet zu sein.
Aber mit meinem anderen Netzteil geht es ohne Probleme. Das Standard Netzteil ist halt nur zu schwach.

Hi
Of course, update, firmware, bios all up to date. There hasn't been any update for the stealth since July. Seems to be obsolete now.
But with my other power supply it goes without any problems. The standard power supply is just too weak.

Creator Mode?

Creator Mode?

Creator Mode is a power option in Razer Synapse that allows the CPU to run up to 25 watts.
Ah. Ok, bei uns heisst das nur anders. Dachte schon, das wäre ne Funktion die es mal wieder "Only in USA" gibt.

Ok, with us it just means differently. Thought that would be ne function that there is again "Only in USA"

Agreed. Figures that Razer releases a brand new laptop without fixing any of the issues with the original. They told me the 400mhz on battery issue was designed that way...

The fixes like the power discharge issue are built into the new laptop. But the new one probably has a host of new issues that will be fixed with version 3....

I wonder what’s creator mode in German on Synapse LoL, Entwickler, Gründer or Ersteller mode:big_grin_:

I see the point but imagine how many surface books, stealth, and there’s also other laptops that has similar issue when users push the hardware to its limit. 8656U can spike over 25 watt (saw even user tweaked it to almost 50watt) the mx150 as well, so unable creator mode maybe the solution if you stay with original ac adapter and want the max performance. Don’t get me wrong I understand that it should be able doing anything “normally” on original parts, I’m totally agree but keep in mind it’s still an ultrabook that has some limitation, not full powered gaming laptop. And with 100 watt bigger ac adapter it may loose the ultra portability from an ultrabook. That’s why I personally prefer 65watt on my next stealth upgrade and avoid dgpu because I need the portability not the power from an ultrabook, not mentioned extra weight from the dgpu that comes with.

Isn't the point of having an ultrabook the fact that your battery lasts long enough that you don't need to bring your charger with you? Unless you're in for a few days worth of trip, but people who travel multiple days all the time like that aren't the majority. Most of us just bring our laptop at work/college, come back with still some battery left and just want to plug it in and play without worrying about our battery draining out.

Yes you’re true but since it has dgpu some users brings also the ac adapter for their works or gaming on the go. With 2017 8550U and even have Razer power Bank I bring ac adapter around for gaming on go, yes poor 720p low setting mostly.
As I mentioned above if the ac adapter doesn’t properly feed your power needs you should underclock it if you want to avoid the issue, like using balanced mode (I’m not 2019 stealth owner so I’m not quite sure, but if I were, I would try undervolte or limit the cpu tdp to like 15 watt, I’m doing it as well on my Blade 15 for other reason the thermal though, I think Razer will doing this as well on 2019 v2 since Gtx model states on specs isn’t 25 watt ctdpq unlike mercury base without dgpu, even though with 100 watt default ac adapter I think it’ll be enough to provide 35 watt 1650maxq and 25watt ctdp 1065g7 cpu.
