My razerblade stealth paired with a 4k display monitor seems to be quite laggy.

Hiya everyone. I'd bought a razerblade stealth 12" UHD last year around june, and today I've just purchased a dell ultra hd 4k monitor p2715q, which is a 27" monitor display. I'm using this without razercore as I haven't purchased one yet although I do plan to this year.

Thing is I do quite a bit of design work and I wanted a bigger monitor at home. However as I plugged it in (I'm using an HDMI 2.0 cord) the first thing I've noticed is the stuttering mouse cursor when I move it, and I can't pin point it exactly but the transitions aren't as smooth as it does on my actual laptop.

Does anyone have any idea what I can do improve this?

Try this one, maybe could help you. I’ve just tried my stealth (I think same model with you only with QHD displays) using Orochi (wired and Bluetooth) connected with HDMI to Samsung 4K monitor, no issues at all.

You Intel 620HD can't support 2 - 4k resolutions, hence the stutter. That's my best guess.

4k60 can't be done over the HDMI port- you are stuck at 30hz.:mad_: You could use USB-C to displayport adapter...

Guys, he use only one External 4K monitor with its hdmi port, internal display is UHD. I don’t have 4K laptop to test but, QHD internal on Blade stealth with 4K monitor, both runs 60Hz, 30Hz runs only if the HDMI is 1.4, which is not it’s 2.0 on stealth, idk the monitor though.

I'm guessing the P2715Q is the same as my P2415Q.

The 620HD is simply not powerful enough to run a 1440 and a 4k at the same time. Issue isn't port, it's GPU (Or rather lack of)

It’s when you’re doing 3D works or gaming yes, 2D or desktop tasks like watching movies, photos etc intel HD620 isn’t Problem at all, i don’t need my core and 1080ti to watch YouTube on 4K native resolution. Note we’re talking not two monitors, it’s my stealth internal monitor and a 4K external monitor connected with HDMI.

That's cute. The Intel HD3000 in my Thinkpad x220 (ultraportable from 2011) has no trouble running 2x 4k displays. You need the 3 plus dock (with two displayports) and the internal screen is disabled, but it runs juuuust fine :)

It can move a cursor across the windows desktop without any lag for sure. If only 'cursor trails' was still an option...
