I have a 1000 dollar budget so the ti will be the most expensive thing, I am thinking about getting an i 5 to top it all off. Are the i5's any good?

Get the i5 6600k. Then overclock it. It's really good and only costs $150

thanks for the suggestion, I am not thinking about overclocking because it would void warranty but I am probably going to use a i5 8600 because it is also a bit cheaper.

The i5-8400 is actually probably pretty price wise. It's $70 cheaper and only 10% worse, performance wise. I'd save that $70 and buy a SSD lol.

It won't void the warranty if no one knows/notices you did it ;)

I know a lot of gamers aren´t into amd cpus, but I can recommend a Ryzen 5 1600 or 1600x. Also the Ryzen stock coolers are good so you don´t have to buy one :) Of course you won´t go wrong with Intel, too.

Generally the i7 chip will be more powerful than their i5 counterparts at the baseline level. The main defining difference between i7 and i5 chips is that ALL i7 chips feature hyper-threading and have larger Cache. For gaming purposes, i5 chips should be sufficient as most games do not take advantage of the multitasking features afforded by the i7 CPUs.

Never a good idea to say that i7's are better than i5's... I still use a i5 in my desktop that's more powerful than the i7 in my laptop. Yes, hyperthreading and a larger cache do help, but it's case by case, and shouldn't be generalized.
