So pretty much, a few days ago my kraken stopped working. I switched the port and it said there was a power surge. After plugging and unplugging, the headset eventually made my pc turn off and it wouldn't turn on until the headset unplugged. Anyone have an issue similar to this? Is it something to do with drivers crashing the pc or is it a hardware issue? Please help.

It made your pc turn off? Can you provide more information?

Have you tried the headset on another PC? Does it cause the same issues?

  3. Hi,

Almost the same situation. After a bit less then 1 year my headset (Kraken 7.1 V2) stopped working. At the beginning it prompted for Windows signed driver. I've opened the case for technical support. The support asked me to reinstall the Synapse. It did remove the prompt for Windows signed driver and that's it. I went ahead and tried to install the Synapse at different machine with different OS first time. I was surprised but result was absolutely the same. The headset haven't started to work.

I provided all logs from both machines to support team. According the last mail it escalated to development team. I guess it might be 2 major option:
    - A manufacturing issue. In this case the headset has to be replaced according the warranty if it still possible.
    - Driver/software issue. In this case Razer Support will observe increasing of this kind of escalations.

I haven't heard back from support for a week. Hope it the second option :).

Does someone have the same/simular issue?

@bestFIRECornellRed247 It could be a setting in your Windows sound setting. Go to your Control Panel and then your Sound option. Once there you will be different "Playback device" to chose from. You will want to go to your Kraken and make it the default device. Try that!
  5. The problem is after reinstall Windows can't recognize the headset's driver at all. Windows tries to recognize the headset but the headset appears as Conexant device and became grayed-out. So i can see only build-in sound device. Kraken device is not visible.

Reinstall what? Windows or Razer Synapse?
  7. I reinstalled Synapse on both machines.

BTW I reinstalled Compute Stick for troubleshooting and found exactly the same behaviour. I installed OS only with chipset without even antvirus and other soft. That's why it might be either OS issue like patches or it might be the synapse issue. Awaiting the answer from support...

Well, I wish I could tell you anything further, unfortunately, I have no further ideas. Hopefully that the Support will be able to answer you soon!
