NEW 2016 Razer Blade screen won't turn on after screen shuts off.

  1. Hi, so I just got this 2016 Razer Blade (970m, 16GB version) last week and everything with it is fine except for this one problem. After 10 minutes the timer to shut off the screen takes effect, and once it shuts off it won't turn back on. The keyboard and everything still reacts to touch but the screen remains black with the back light for the screen on.

The issue here is the screen shuts off (as it should after the 10 minute timer) and then once I perform any actions to bring the screen back on, it doesn't actually display anything, just a black screen with backlighting. All of these cases the laptop doesn't enter sleep mode, the screen simply turns off to conserve battery after a set idle time and the screen won't come back on without putting the laptop in sleep mode, then re-waking and re-logging back into the machine.

I don't have a Blade, but is there an option before the timer goes off, to set the brightness of the power-saving option? Or maybe a setting that requires a password for the screen to wake back up (sounds stupid, doesn't it?)?

I ask, because when I first installed Windows 10 on a partition on my MacBook Pro, and wanted to use an external monitor with my laptop monitor brightness turned down a bit, I turned it all the way down to see how low it went, and then couldn't turn it back on again. In order to bring the right dialog up, I had to just try clicking random areas on the screen that I couldn't see, just to drag it onto the external and adjust the brightness slider again.

I have the same model and the exact same issue. Contacted Razer and told me to do a factory reset to the laptop which should fix the issue. However, I'm going to RMA it for other issues and including this issue.

Same issue as well. I just learned to live with it and gonna wait til Microsoft stores stock the new ones and see if I can leverage Microsoft Complete for a free upgrade ;) but yeah it doesn't bother me too much but I have a stuck pixel so.
