    Hey all,

I've been considering an ultra book for a little while, but am having trouble making the final decision between the New Razer Blade Stealth and the New Dell XPS 13.

The main purpose of this laptop would be for :
    • Computer Programming
    • Web Design
    • Light Gaming
I already have a gaming desktop so I don't need this laptop to max out Fallout 4 or anything like that. I really want it so that I can sit on the couch and play something like Civilization 6 or even XCOM 2. I'm fine with lowering the graphics, i'm just more concerned whether these laptops could even handle games like this.

I'm also a computer programming student so I will be using it for C++ and Python and that sort of stuff, but also for Web Designing on the side.

I currently have a 17 inch Asus ROG laptop. Its a couple years old, but is a powerhouse and plays games no problem, but it's heavy and bulky, and my needs for a laptop have changed from when I purchased that lol

Any input on which is better for my scenario? Im leaning to the Stealth because I love how it looks, it has a touchscreen which is a nice extra that the Dell doesn't have, and I could upgrade the SSD if I want to. My only concern is I have read some reviews about the quality of the Razers, like it making some weird noise around the coil and just poor quality.

I want one of these 2 ultra books. I know the Blade Stealth isn't for gaming, but I would like to do light gaming with graphics cranked down as well as computer programming and web design.

    Any help is appreciated!
  2. XPS. It's a great system with a better screen and capabilities.

I would recommend watching Dave2D's video review comparing them.

There are a lot more threads with the same question on the forum, please search. They all claim that they will do programming / web design / video editing (not your case).

I was making the same choice in the beginning of the year and I chose RBS because it was cheaper. Otherwise I would have gone for XPS 13. Right now I think that the cheapest XPS 15 would have been even a better option.

You shouldn't expect that someone discusses problems of XPS13 here. For an honest comparison you may find a lot of relevant information by googling "XPS 13 problems", "XPS 13 screen", etc.

Dunno what you are talking about. The color coverage in RBS is not perfect but still better than the one in XPS13. The XPS13 FullHD screen is literally worse in every aspect than the one of RBS being at the same price.
