New Naga X stops boot/startup from completing - black screen

Last week I purchased a brand new Naga X to replace my old Naga Molten where the scroll wheel broke. The mouse itself works fine. However, since the first use, my PC now does not boot up properly while the mouse is plugged in. On first boot it beeps as normal, etc. but Windows never loads and the monitor stays black, although on. Shutting off and restarting using the power button works after that. If I unplug the mouse and don't plug it in until after startup, everything is ok. However, I would rather not have to unplug my mouse every reboot or start my PC twice every time I want to use it.

Following a friend's advice I went into the BIOS to check the boot order, but it is set to prioritise the hard drive. The old mouse had no such issues. My graphics drivers are up to date and there do not appear to be any software updates for the Naga X on the Razer site. Any suggestions?
