no lights on turret wireless keyboard

Hello,
I just got my turret wireless keyboard/mouse. I like it so far, but the lights on the keyboard are not working. I think the issue may be due to it being a refurbished item. I did everything that is common to fix the issue from uninstalling and installing all drivers, to messing with settings in synapse but I am not getting any lights at all. The cap button does not light up at all. i am pretty handy with electronics, and I am wondering if there is a common mechanical problem like a wire coming loose from the solder? If not, then I am wondering if razer would replace this item {even though i bought it from Amazon.} sucks... :(
