the deathstalker is rather old, I'd have a look at the new ornata, which is a membran keyboard with a mechanical feel to it

I'm curious, why is it you specifically don't want a mechanical keyboard?

I currently have the blackwidow TE that i use for gaming but i also do a lot of coding, coursework, emailing etc and the click can get annoying when typing a 10000 word essay. so looking for a second keyboard for that stuff. you could argue about getting just a cheap thing for that but i like razer and was wondering if they offered anything of the sort?

You'll have to go for the Deathstalker then. As the name implies, it's really quiet.
The Ornata also has a loud click. (Here's a sample)

Yeah I thought that might be the reason! Someone who actually knows about keyboards even showed up promptly to actually be able to help :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Probably a good option for you then! I'm pretty new here so I'm still working out some stuff in terms of Razer products, I'm mainly here for their systems ^^' From what I can tell it's a pretty solid keyboard though :)

The deathstalker is a good keyboard, but there is no per key lighting and the strength of the bulbs behind the keys are quite weak. They are only around 1/3 of the brightness of my blades keyboard.

Also, I own a Deathstalker Chroma, If you were planning on making certain keys light up and others not, it is impossible since Deathstalker's Chroma Config is in 3 parts, not all different keys.

It would be nice if all Razer keyboards came in a stealth version too, not just some of them.

You may consider Razer Cynosa, it is same with Blackwidow but not mechanical keyboard.

I personally Love the feel of mechanical keyboards, but I cant deal with the sound. I happen to have Misophonia (wiki) and I just cant stand the constant clatter of the keys, much like I cant stand other certain random sounds.
