bumping this, cmon guys, its been MONTHS

what does the tartarus do that the orb weaver does differently?

tartarus v2 is newer product then orbweaver chroma

fair, but the blackwidow chroma is about as old as the orbweaver... and thats compatible

When synapse launch to public use on CES some sad every chroma device will get support over time but on forum in synapse 3 update topic yoou can find dev info about adding devices they do with their own list so at this point most people wait or switch devices to new one to get everything in one place.

well thats the issue, i really like my orbweaver, and its actually a "better" game pad than the tartarus (mechanical switches, better adjust-ability) seems kinda silly from a consumer standpoint to be forced to downgrade your product to get everything to work with the same software.. especially considering you can still buy the orbweaver from the site as the "better" option..

"sorry kid we don't support mustang GT's, but if you had the V6, now we can talk" typically they should encourage you to buy the more expensive thing, right?

Yes but you must remember one thing this is old device so they can new one as replacement at this point it is pure speculation when or what will be relese.

    then why continue selling it?

why not just discontinue it and keep selling the tartarus?

cause money.. so why would you actively discourage people from buying a "better" one by hamstringing it with old software?

cause its not like this is a new issue, the orbweaver chroma has lacked synapse 3 support since the beta, and i know people have brought that up as far back as then

I would like to have it supported...it is also a higher rated pad than the tartarus

I think it's about time it receives the Synapse 3 compatibility, or at least a new version of it. I'm really just waiting to upgrade to an Orbweaver V2 whenever it comes out. I tried the Tartarus V2 in the game store and it really isn't my type of keypad and would much prefer true mechanical keys. The wrist rest is a very nice addition though and I hope to see it in the Orbweaver V2.

Agreed, I own a Orbweaver Chroma and purchased it over the Tartarus because it seemed like the better model. Now I have come to understand that you aren't supporting it with Synapse 3? Why?

As a consumer this make me angry. You should have to state "Not Synapse 3 supported" on the product page! Now I am stuck with an unsupported device moving forward, just because I wanted mechanical keys! This is a jackleg thing to do to your devoted customers. This is messed up and may cause me to turn elsewhere as I need upgrades.

why do you guys want a new orbweaver? the current one is in capable of doing all the same things that a new one would achieve minus onboard memory. do you really want to buy a new device just for the sake of having a new device?

    1. The current Razer Orbweaver isn't compatible with Synapse 3.
    2. The current Orbweaver has a problem with its glue.
    3. Some people have a preference of using Razer Yellow Switches.
    4. A soft ergonomic wrist rest that the Tartarus V2 has would be an amazing addition.
    5. There are people that prefer the D-Pad that the Tartarus V2 has.
    6. Hypershift mode is an amazing feature.
    7. Having on-board memory is a very big deal for a product like this.
    8. A new Orbweaver could be upgraded with media keys and a digital dial.
There are probably more reasons but these are the ones I can think of. I really don't want to have to buy a Razer Tartarus V2 and mod it with mechanical switches just to get the desired results. I'm also currently borrowing a family member's Orbweaver and I don't want to buy a product that is outdated (especially since it doesn't support Synapse 3).

I'm currently using both Synapse 2 and Synapse 3 and it isn't a good experience for me. It's bad enough that I have to use Synapse just to make the products work, it gets worse with the fact that I have to run two of them and both of these software aren't compatible with each other.

I'm not sure how often Razer is taking feedback in this forum to improve their products but I certainly hope this message gets across so that we can get a new and better version of the Orbweaver.

S3 could be patched, if they had more than one dev taking care of all drivers.
the lineup could be expanded to cover yellows.

fair enough. imo, besides the ergonomics of the current one i didn' think of these to be issues. and that's exactly the reason why i asked ;)

same for me, whenever i decide to pull out my orbweaver, which is also the reason why i almost never use it.

remember, guys: stay constructive and you might get your wishes granted!
  16. Razer, get your stuff done and add the Orbweaver Chroma!
And if you're at it, then finally release Synapse 3 for Mac.

All this makes Corsair, which released iCUE for Mac, much more interesting...

Can we please have Orbweaver support in Synapse 3.0? I would like to be able to use Razer Hypershift on my Orbweaver now.

Clearly there is a demand for it. I'll probably even buy another Orbweaver since my current one's spacebar broke off. (Using 50 layers of gaff tape as a work around). I just have zero interest in the tarterus v2.

Adding my voice to the list of people requesting support for the Orbweaver Chrome. I just bought one and was very surprised to find out it is not supported anymore.

You can install synapse 2 and use it without any problems, no one is forcing you to use Synapse 3, in fact, it's even advised not to since it's still in BETA.
