Peripherals (Mouse/Keyboard) disconnect many times

Userlevel 4
I'm really getting tired of this. Throughout the day both my Razer mouse and Razer keyboard disconnect and reconnect. I can be typing or hovering over something when it happens. I made sure that all USB power settings are set correctly. This doesn't happen if the Synapse software isn't installed. When using Synapse 3.0 it happens 3 times more than Synapse 2.0.

Are you sure it isn't simply your USB ports that are causing the issues? Try testing another product so that we can rule possible causes out before providing a solution.

Before I begin, I have a Lancerhead mouse (Latest one) and a Blackwidow Chroma Keyboard v1.
Things that I've tried:

  • Onboard USB 2.0 ports
  • USB 3.0 ad-on card
  • Another USB 3.0 ad-on card
  • Standard mouse and keyboard
  • Above Razer mouse and keyboard
  • Up-to-date software, drivers and Windows 10 Pro OS
  • PC re-formatted 2 times

The standard mouse and keyboard doesn't have any issues. If I uninstall the Synapse software then I have no issues with the above Razer mouse and keyboard. For the Razer Lancerhead mouse: This happens both when using Wireless and wired (Synapse 2.0 or 3.0 installed). This seems to happen with the last 2 Windows 10 feature updates (which includes the April Spring update). I had no issues before that.
The last two Windows updates, huh?

This may be a bit of a drastic suggestion, but if you have tried literally everything, I would recommend rolling back those specific updates, then toggling off automatic Windows updates until they release a version that actually works. As a Windows 8.1 user (disgusting, I know,) I have used this technique several times over the years to fix some extremely annoying issues with troublesome, yet necessary, software.

I'm not the biggest computer expert, but I'm extremely unlucky - if you can think of a 1:1 search result issue with a programme, I've probably had it, and I hold onto this information in the hopes that someone will have the same issue and need a fix. That being said, this issue is new to me, and rolling back a few updates is the only way I've dealt with similar issues before, so good luck, and I hope you manage to fix this annoying bug.
I had a problem recently with my BlackWidow X Chroma just randomly disconnecting, the keys don't respond but the lights are still flashing. I of course googled fixes and the best option that looked solid was to disable Windows from turning USB device off.

I went onto control panel and got device manager. Went down to *Universal Serial Bus Controllers* and right clicked every USB connection clicked on properties clicked on the *Power Management* tab and made sure "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" was unchecked. A lot of the connections didn't have the option. Haven't had it happen since.

I've tried that too and I get random disconnects and freezes. Again, it doesn't happen if I don't have Synapse installed. I also get the disconnect sound when I get to my windows sign-in screen during a PC boot-up (Synapse installed only).
My mouse keep disconnecting/reconnecting randomly too (making usb disconnect sound and reconnects after 3 - 6 seconds)
Things I've tried:
- Adjusted mouse sensitivity/polling rate
- Different USB ports
- Make sure all my drivers and windows are updated
- Uninstall/install Razer Synapse and update it
- Turned off the "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" on all USB Controllers
and much more.

The temporary fix that i found for my mouse is to :
1- Unplug the mouse
2- Uninstall completely Razer Synapse and the Razer mouse driver
3- Reboot and plug the mouse to use the default Windows driver

But by using this solution you will not be able to adjust your mouse DPI, you can not use macros and you can not personalize your mouse buttons witch is pretty annoying but it's better than the disconnecting.

I hope Razer will do an update to fix this issue.

Edit : The problem came back few days later i had to buy a new gaming mouse definitely not a Razer product
I am having the same issues....
my DA elite suited me fine.... and the issue started happening.
So, I went out and bought a mamba hyperflux....which didn't solve anything.
Please....synapse.....
Same issues. Tried different computers, reinstalled drivers, Synapse, etc. 😞

Same issues. Tried different computers, reinstalled drivers, Synapse, etc. :slightly_sad:

my initial thoughts were that it was a software+hardware issue
but since I bought a new mouse and the issue persists.....I doubt it is a hardware issue.

so...synapse team.....get to work
Hi guys

I have the same issue with all my Razer devices, Black Widow Chroma Keyboard, Lancehead mouse, Firefly Mouse mat, Kraken heaphones and the headphone stand. All keep disconnecting (disappearing from Synapse) and then re appearing 2 seconds later. It happens continuously, so I've uninstalled Synapse (V 2.0 and v 3.0) thenthe problem stops. But now I cant configure anything, so whats the point of Razer!!!! Come on guys...

When i have this i look into this issue and dont know if you having the same issue as me but you can cheack it. For me the problem was a usb power menagment issue on motherboard that give too low voltage to run it so when the voltage go low it cutoff power on usb ports. The fix was settings usb as pernament voltage delivery in windows usb driver. Guide and full description you find on gogle without any problem 😛
Had same issue in windows 10, turns out in an update there is a USB power management called "USB Selective Suspend Setting" that was killing power briefly and causing constant disconnects my Razer gear.
Edit Power Plan > Change Advanced Power Settings > USB Settings > USB Selective Suspend Setting > Change to Disabled > Hit Apply and do a reboot
Have a good gaming session!

Joined the forum just to say that as of now this -appears- to have solved my problem. It's been several minutes and I still have all my custom lighting and full key functions. I'll have to see if it lasts - but it's the best results I've had in three days of troubleshooting.

yep its so annoying my keyboard and headphones bug so hard when synapse is installed and when i delete it it works fine
I am having the same issue here with a BlackWidow Chroma V2, I am using this at work for programming with a notebook and a docking station. Connecting the keyboard to the docking station causes it to lose connection, connecting it to the notebook directly works. I simply think it draws too much power.
Mine is a Blackwidows chroma and it still happening even after doing everything you guys said, though it only happens in game, and all games but CS GO, I get the feeling its this shitty SYNAPSE, meaning to stop it I have to create a profile in SYNAPSE for every game I play so it stops.....

Plus I use synapse 2.0 for Mouse which has no problem at all and 3.0 for keyboard

Edit: Not even this is working anymore, any other sugestion guys ?
In my case, it definitely has to do with the amount of power it draws from USB. I took this notebook home and connected it to the docking station I have there. It is the same model. At home, I have a USB switch connected to this docking station so I can hand over the keyboard to different computers with the push of a button. The keyboard does not disconnect when attached to this USB switch, whereas it disconnects when connected to the docking station.
So I still think the keyboard draws too much power from USB or the docking station does not deliver enough to power the keyboard.

This can be detected by today's electronics, so there should be a warning when this happens.
I'm done with my stupid razer deathadder chroma! From your message i can assume windows detext mouse but synapse dont ? In this case you try to remove all razer softwere then delete files that stay in appdata and programfiles reboot and download new fresh installer from razer website also try to remove mouse from device menager to force new driver installation then unplug mouse and reboot pc plug back you can do this two thigs together, If this dont help you can cheack if the same behawior is on difrent pc this give give more info in future to help you.
Got a Razer Cynosa Chroma keyboard last week. Installed Synapse 3.0 and it was great for a few days. Then I got a Deathadder Elite mouse (to replace my old Deathadder Chroma). Both were recognized by Synapse 3.0 and the random disconnect/reconnect started happening almost immediately.
Tried different USB ports, restarting, USB power settings (in Power plan and Device Manager), deleting devices in device manager and letting it reinstall drivers.
The ONLY thing that stopped the random disconnects was uninstalling Razer Synapse 3.0. Now everything is fine.

Weird that my Cynosa keyboard with Synapse 3 and Deathadder Chroma mouse with Synapse 2 (both running at same time) -- it worked fine. It wasn't a problem until I upgraded to a Deathadder Elite mouse and both devices were using Synapse 3.0 (I unistalled Synapse 2).

Not sure how Razer can let this go on for so long and just ignore this thread...
I'm also having the same issue with:

Basilisk
Blackwidow Chroma V2 TE
Chroma Laptop Stand

All are connected to a Blade Stealth 2019. The problem occurs when the devices are connected directly to the laptop, when connecting via the USB huib on the laptop stand, and via a powered USB hub. If I quit synapse, the problem goes away (don't need to uninstall).

I don't think this is a power draw issue, because:
a) It occurs when Synapse is running and the devices are connected to a powered USB hub.
b) It doesn't happen when directly connected with Synapse not running.

Edit to add:
All USB power management has been disabled (via Device Manager and Power Options), and nothing appears in the Application or System event logs when the disconnects occur.
