Hey guys. Seems like since last year, Razer's laptops have improved. Is it possible to get a Razer laptop in the $1,000 range? Or just save extra and get something more expensive? I like the Chroma feature, but seems like the Razer 15 is super pricey are $1500. What do you guys recommend? Razer 13 with Core X? An older model? Are there ever sales? Maybe getting a Razer laptop of this year's model or last year's for $1,000 is impossible as I don't really see sales below $1200.

You can take a look at older model on local store or from Razer outlet. I won’t recommend buying second hand laptop that is used for gaming. Bought stealth early 2017 for around 800 bucks from outlet, it came like a new system sealed only without sticker on screen like new unit, works great till now. You’ll need core and gpu to play games well on it though, but now you can get it for 300 core x and 100 bucks rx570 with games gift from amd.

Thanks! What's the equivalent of the RX570 card compared to a GTX card?

It’s around slightly slower than Gtx 1060 cheaper 3gb one. With tb bandwidth limitation and laptop cpu bottleneck you may expect a better gtx 1050ti performance, well FHD medium to high setting depends the game.

Got it. Just to maintain a budget. Thanks!!

In the future, if I decided to upgrade, would that be able to handle a GTX 1070 or 1080 or would the motherboard or internals of the stealth get fried from using a higher power graphics card?

I was using 2016 stealth with 1080ti. It was not fried only super bottleneck, got around 1060 laptops performance.

Ok. I'll look into this. Would like to get a laptop with Thunderbolt 3 to help it last over the course of some years. I think my Acer Predator Helios 300 with the GTX 1060 6GB should last me some time, but hoping for something 5 years at least. Unless some people think the 1060 can still be viable in 2022 for example.
