Problem with mic on Razer Blackshark v2 X

I am having a massive problem with my mic at the moment. I just recieved my new headphones today and they play audio just fine, however the microphone is extremely blown out and sounds terrible. I am using the splitter provided by Razer which is going straight into my motherboard. I want to reitterate that the headset is literally only a day old and I would like to know if anyone has a fix.

Firstly I originally thought that there was a problem with the splitter and or the actual input on my motherboard. So I used the splitter with an old set of headphones (Hyper X Cloud II) and it worked completely fine. Then tried again with my new Blackshark v2 X and again they didn't work.

Secondly I tried using a 3rd party sound card (The USB sound card from Hyper 😵 and the headset worked fine, however using the soundcard you can clearly hear a significant difference between using the soundcard and going straight into the motherboard. Obviously I want the best audio I can get, so the soundcard is not an option for me going forward.

Lastly I plugged the headphones directly into my laptop, which is just a 3.5mm jack so there was no need for the splitter and they worked completely fine. All of the audio sounded great and my voice sounded super clear.

I honestly have no idea what can be wrong considering that the headphones are brand new, the splitter works fine for my old headset but not the Blackshark v2 X, the blackshark sounds and works when attached to a 3rd party soundcard but not to the standard that it should, and finally that it works completely fine on my laptop with one 3.5mm jack and no splitter.

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Based on your description of the issue and what you've tried so far, it would be safe to say that the splitter cable that came with the Blackshark is defective. You can either use another splitter cable or send the entire package in for an RMA.

PM me should you want to submit a warranty claim instead.
