I preordered my FHD Blade right after the first wave of pre-orders opened September 2nd, and was notified that shipping had been delayed to October 14th.

Well, Razer just charged my card so I may be receiving a laptop soon!

I ordered a 1tb qhd and my card was charged as well. And I just ordered mine yesterday so that's pretty sweet.

Which GB version did you get? I hope us October ordering scrubs will get it soon too :slightly_sad:.

    I went cheap - the 256gb version.

The warranty period is so short that I don't mind using 256gb for a year and then upgrading.

when did they charge you? submitted/in review/in process/complete stage?

When it changed to the "in process" stage.

    thanks!

I ordered on oct 2nd, but while writting my CC info, i did it quickly. So i am uncertain if i wrote it correctly. When i ordered RB 2016 v1( which i returned), it showed i was charged on my bank statement as soon as i ordered it. Then it showed i got the money back, and charged again when it was in process stage. So far, for RB 2016 v2, i was not charged initially. i am worried that if my CC info is wrong, i will only be notified about it being wrong after waiting for Oct 25 (wasting my 3 weeks). :frown_:

    Hi people,
Razer tried to charge my card earlier today, but I forgot to remove my transaction limit on my card, so does that mean Razer has failed to receive my payment? If so, will Razer try to charge my card again automatically, or should I contact the customer support to finish my payment?
Also, I received a loss prevention phone call from my bank, and I have removed my transaction limit on my card. This is my first time buying from Razer directly and I hope someone can provide some insight to me.

Why did you choose the FHD version over the QHD one?

Battery life, better FPS on games, longevity for games coming out in 2017+, and lack of resolution/scaling issues.

Other than battery life, I don't believe the others are issues.

You can simply downscale the QHD+ to a FHD one and have the same FPS as the FHD version.

Same as what I've said above

What would the scaling issues be? They should look the same after downscaling the QHD+ screen to 1080p.

You sound pretty convinced on the QHD+, and that's fine. I've owned the QHD+ Blade, and I'll pass. Running it at a QHD+ resolution gave a host of problems with scaling, and if I'm just going to run it at a non-native resolution why not buy the same laptop, cheaper, that I can run at the native res?

Your entire post was basically "the QHD+ can run FHD" - I know that, and if I'm going to run FHD, I'll just buy the FHD version.

Yeah, it really just comes down to personal preference and intended use. I was going to go with the fhd to save a couple bucks since most games would be played at that resolution anyways. Then I decided that I'd rather have the extra resolution for video editing and media consumption, plus I'm also switching from a rMBP and was worried I'd miss the extra "crispness" of the higher resolution.

I'm not really convinced, but I'm deeply confused and worried that a FHD screen might perhaps be better than a QHD+ display concerning the battery life and scaling issues. So I guess I'll have to wait for a Tech YouTuber to compare the battery lives of each version and I'll be choosing the one that has a fair battery life.

Have you had any issues with the screen so far? How was the downscaling to 1080p fared when gaming?

I agree with this. I have the QHD now and I'm so happy they offered the FHD option this time. Running at 1080 on the QHD screen is definitely not the same as on a FHD display. Not to mention glossy panels just stink for gaming in my opinion. Also because the QHD is touch it has that grainy textured look behind the glass. Matte panel all the way.

You've heard from two people on this thread who have owned the QHD+ (myself and @Firebat246 ). Both of us are switching over to the FHD for a variety of reasons.

If your main decision point is battery life, it's almost a no-brainer: FHD will nearly certainly have a substantial (>10%) difference in battery life over the QHD+.

    Good luck with your decision!

Haha thanks, I have reconsidered myself now.

What do you think of buying the 256GB version of the Blade and then upgrading the SSD to a 512GB Samsung 950 Pro? Will the machine face any problems like excessive heat or it's totally fine? Because 950 Pro has significantly faster read/write speed than the PM951.

If you are capable of doing it yourself (razers arent the most accessible laptops) then you won't have any problems. HIDevolution will do it for you if you order through them.. just expect to pay a premium. I personally would not order from them because even the identical model is priced higher than through Razer.

Have not received mine yet. It appears my order is preparing to ship so hopefully I'll have it sometime next week.
