QHD Razer Blade Stealth Freezing

    nice good to know. My initial positive outcome has just done a 360 turn. Check it out 1st CPU core overheats to 100c under load while the other remains cool. I noticed something was amiss when the fans fired up from mere web browsing. Here I go again with support round 2. I'd prefer a refund this time towards the new blade 14 at this point. temps.jpg

    By chance which program are you using for the system stability and testing?

    I used prime95 and a trial version of aida64

    good to hear about the good customer service, this board tend to be littered with people having bad experiences.

    certainly looks that way. I am currently having some trouble convincing support to acknowledge my overheating as an issue because of the exaggerated workload nature of benchmarking software. Did some gaming and video render tests in which the overheating was still an issue so I sent them my temp logs on that. Will see what happens from there.

    I wonder if it was the same if you would install Windows 7/8.1 on it. In my opinion Win10 is causing the problems. There is still much to work on in Win10, that's why I will stay with 7 ;)

    I'm wondering about that myself if it is windows as when I search for similar instances of the problems I am having I sometimes see similar things happening with other brands of laptops.

    The weird thing is problems seem to go in phases and then are not reproducible. For instance the other day the Stealth kept on freezing. I didn't use it for a few hours and then since then it hasn't frozen again. Just a minute ago the display drivers crashed, and yesterday after I had just installed FL Studio and as soon as I played the demo song it started with I was getting a lot of crackling noise and I could cause distortion in the sound by just scrolling the window. It seems like the next time I use this laptop (my 3rd stealth) the problem has disappeared, which also occurred on my 2nd stealth that was replaced.

    I'm wondering if maybe we should benchmark our stealths and compare to get an idea on where it should be performing in case there is a problem

    I'm having freezing issues with my stealth as well. Also, my left USB Type-A port won't let my flash drive stay connected. Right side works well.

    Also, I've been running Windows 10 since day one of the free download/upgrade on a Sager laptop with zero stability issues. I doubt its Win 10. I'm actually pretty happy with the OS...for a change.

    Anyway, I'm on the back-and-forth with support at this point regarding the stealth. I wish I had paid a little more attention to the boards before I purchased. We'll see how it goes though.

    EDIT: Forgot to mention, I've had two freezes since the EC update. I am current on the EC version.

    Can I ask you to keep us updated? I also have occasional freezes. Tried to perform ssd health check but the 128gb does not support SMART. Did you try drivers from Intel? What is EC?

    Actually, since I had purchased from Razer, and since I was at day 13 (Razer return policy is 14 days), I decided to return the machine. I shipped it back yesterday evening.

    They must know that, especially with only integrated graphics and an extremely light weight, this was going to appeal to the business traveller that also wanted to game, at least at home with the core. I'm a business traveller and I conduct online training some weeks and classroom training other weeks. I just can't have my machine freezing like that. If it was the normal Windows occasional hiccups, then I could deal with it. But too many RBS customers, it seems, are having problems.

    I love my Naga mice, and my orbweaver, and I will look at Razer again. But I'll give them time first to mature a bit. Good luck folks; I'll be watching for your fix.

    This is was exact my thinking. Well, I will watch my logs to identify the problem, though, it is quite problematic right now.

    Well my latest stealth has frozen twice along with another issue and what might be a performance slow down, even after the EC update and updating drivers... so it's getting replaced.

    I REALLY hope this is the last time. If the laptop wasn't freezing it would be perfect. I LOVE the laptop otherwise.

    Razer issued a patch for the plugged in throttling issue.

    My Razer Blade Stealth is freezing too. It usually freezes when I step away from my computer for a minute or two. Every now and then I get a WHEA_Uncorrectable_Error BSOD. Sometimes I can go a week without a crash, and other days I'll freeze every 4 hours. I've never experienced a crash while using my computer.

    I'll let anyone here know if I'm able to figure out what the problem is.

    I was really considering picking up a stealth for work on the go and of course gaming, but maybe I should wait until all the bugs are worked out :frown_:

    I've really loved my stealth so far, but it'd probably be best to hold off for a little until we get a solution posted on this form.

    Just installed the EC update. We'll see if that has any effect.
