  1. So far no lockups, but.... I did get a BSOD WHEA_ONCORRECTABLE_ERROR tonight... Not sure what that is about. It seems for some it is a hardware issue, others a Windows update issue, and anything in between. Thoughts?

So I just got the BSOD WHEA_ONCORRECTABLE_ERROR Three times today out of nowhere. Only thing that changed as far as I know recently is that I installed the windows 10 anniversary update. Really hope this isn't hardware related because I bought my RBS 512 QHD while I was in the US and I had to RMA it once already.

Have any of you started getting these after the windows 10 anniversary update?
  3. I do not have the update yet, so I cannot comment. Though I do not think I will be updating right away after your experience, I have been having enough problems without adding that one to the mix. When did you update?

Just a couple of days ago. So I've been doing some research and this specific BSOD seems to be caused most likely by the CPU or less likely by a faulty driver. So a freeze should be OS independent, and given that I saw someone mention they have the freezes in Linux too in this thread, I'm starting to get worried.
  5. I am not so sure, I have been reading others have seen this issue on the RBS's and driver updates have helped. I have only had my Razer for a week or so and have experienced both freezing and that BSOD you mentioned. The BSOD's I have, which are the same as you mentioned, only happened on 2 days, it has been a few days since I had one. It also only started after I updated my intel driver. It may, in fact just be software.

I hope for everyone in this thread It's a software issue. Will keep an eye on it for a couple of days before contacting support. In any case I'll keep an eye on this thread :)

I had freezes with my first RBS but did not have anything like that with the 2 replacements I owned so far. The software I could access was the same in all units so I doubt it is a software issue you can solve on your own.

I've had many freezing issues with my Blade Stealth. I just figured out what the problem was for me. Freezing at seemingly random times. Not heat related as far as I can tell.

I disabled the wifi and plugged in a usb wifi adapter.

Now no freezing when I left it running over night.

My RBS doesn't freeze, but it get's quite constant BSOD, ESPECIALLY if you try to game on it. It's almost a tragedy.

My only other complaint is I have know had my charger replaced 3 or 4 times - I think the weight of the braided wire on the USB-C keeps bending the pins/ripping the USB part out of it's housing. It sucks.

my charger has been replaced only once, the second one works just great

The charger works, up until the charger port rips out. Each of my chargers, if you look at them when you first get them are a straight, 180 degree line. But as you use them over time the rubber housing gets looser and if goes from 180 degrees to a 170/190 degree lean as it begins separating from the pins.
  12. That sounds pretty frustrating. Razer makes some incredible products and I hope they continue to fix issues like this. For the next stealth, hopefully they can reduce the bezel a bit, add some more memory, and add a larger battery.

I am still deciding on if I should return mine, I love a lot about it, but I do not feel like it is a reliable machine at this point.

It is definitely a great machine, and I love Razer products. But I won't lie, I am very envious of my buddies Dell XPS, it's quite the machine. A little bigger and heavier, but it has a dedicated GPU, an SD card reader, the charger seems to be much more reliable. But I also feel partial to Razer, for some reason, as I love their products.
  14. That's funny. I actually has the XPS 15 4k model you're talking about. I just sold it on eBay, replaced it with this and pocketed the rest of the cash to help pay down my dell card lol.

Though for my purposes the Razer or an ultrabook is far more appealing. I have a desktop for my workstation at home with a 34" monitor which I game on as well as work. But the Dell was just too large for my purposes and to my surprise, I gamed on it a whole of 2 times in the 6 months I had it. I always went to my desktop to game. But I do a lot of remote access for work, so I remote into my work machine from wherever I am, sometimes in the car, at the park, or wherever and having a beast machine was just not fun. Everything about it was amazing, other than the fact I was not using any of its features. Now I have this. I really should just get another XPS 13, but the Razer is just so awesome to use, when it works lol.

Psh, we coulda totally traded! Haha.
Don't get me wrong, it is a great machine, but it just feels like it's missing something.
  16. The design is pretty incredible, but I agree. I really wish it had better battery life and was a 13.3 screen. If those two things happened, this would be a dang near perfect machine.

Oh, and if it did not freeze every other day.....

It's weird that I have never had freezing like that, only BSOD... have you updated the BIOS from Razers support page yet?
  18. I downloaded the razer update tool and it said everything was up to date, I have not manually checked the bios version to confirm though.. I had random issues with both my Dell XPS 15 and 13, my 13 was the 1st gen infinity edge model. But both of them, the screen would go black and never recover, and I would have to hard reboot them. That happened a couple times a week with both of the machines, never figured out what that was about.

Now that you mention that... There has been at least twice this week where my Stealth (I know you said it was your XPS, but) just won't wake up and stays dark and I have to close the lid, re-open it and then press the power button again to get it to start... every time it gives me a mini-heart attack. EVERY. TIME.

  20. That's interesting. That is one thing I have not seen so far with mine lol. I am pretty sure it is an intel gpu thing, at least that is what most of the forums suggest. Really annoying regardless.
