Hello!

I'll soon be investing in a new laptop for vr and professional gaming. However for VR I'll need an option for display port. I really like the blade 17 however I can't find any information about whether the thunderbolt usb-c port has the ability to output display from the 2080 inside.

I have a thunderbolt to display port adapt however I've seen many cases where it's connected to the internal graphics instead of the actual graphics card!

If anyone knows whether the thunderbolt is connected to the graphics card I'd be happy to hear

I have the Blade Pro 17 with the RTX2070 Max Q and use the ubc-c port with display port adapter to output to a 4K monitor for video and motion graphics. When connected it is using the RTX card and display at 4K at 60Hz. The cables are important however if you plan on using a 4K monitor make sure the adapter and cable are 4k compatible. I battled for ages with a flickering screen a until I found the right cable.
Have the Blade 17 and yes the Thunderbolt port outputs from the 2080. I can play high end games at high framerates on my 4k display through my Caldigit TS3 Thunderbolt adapter with Synapse set to "Dedicated GPU Only"
