System Information:

PC: Laptop
Dell XPS 13 7390 2-in-1

Processor:
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-1065G7 CPU @ 1.30GHz 1.50 GHz

RAM:
32.0 GB (31.8 GB usable)

OS:
WIndows 10 Home (Version 20H2)

eGPU Housing:
Razor Core X Chroma (RC21-0143)

GPU:
MSI Nvidia Geforce 1660 Super

Monitor:
Acer SB220Q (HDMI)

Problem:
After updating all drivers and OS, I finally got the eGPU to work. It requires a restart to get the Acer monitor to work every time it is plugged in. While plugged in, the system will randomly halt without warning. This can be 30 minutes into use or several hours. The system becomes 100% unresponsive and needs to be force shut down to rectify. I have installed drivers for the monitor, updated the GPU drivers, updated OS to most recent, but I still experience sudden freezes. This tends to cause problems with my work on programs that do not regularly save. The intended use of this unit is for graphics rendering for college, work, and light gaming.

I am looking for some ideas to troubleshoot the issue. After some research, I tried disabling the on board intel graphics driver but still experienced the freeze. The freeze seems most common when idling or doing mundane tasks such as browsing, word processing, or light rendering in programs like photoshop, clipstudio, solidworks, etc.

I am using the thunderbolt 3 cable that arrived with the chroma unit. I also have another thunderbolt 3 cable from Pluggable. (Purchased with on amazon with research done on data through point priority)

Much appreciated for your time.
