Razer Blade 14 has very poor VR performance, is there a way to bypass NVIDIA Optimus?

Note 1: I am fine with the 40-50fps, the issue is if I want to upgrade to a Valve Index or something like it I don't think I could get even 20fps as is.

I've been using my Razer blade 14 3070 for about 5 months now and VR performance has been quite poor. I'm using a Quest 1 with Link and I was wondering the following:

  • Is there a way for me to bypass NVIDIA Optimus so I can get more than 40-50fps? Is one of the USB-Cs directly connected to the GPU or are both of them connected to the integrated graphics?
  • Does anyone else have experience of the Razer Blade 14 working well with other VR headsets or Oculus Link (while being tethered)? I am NOT asking about the performance of any other laptop with the same GPU or with Optimus, a Blade 15, or a wireless setup.
  • Could the fact that I'm using the cable that came with the headset actually be an issue? I've seen claims that it both matters and doesn't matter if I use the cable.

Lastly, Is there a way for me to set up an External GPU then just plug straight into that, or does Optimus also stop that from working? If none of the above is answerable or if I can't get better performance then I'll just have to get a PC.

(Note 2, I HAVE updated all my drivers, set the default GPU to the 3070 in NVIDIA Control Panel, Set all Oculus and all SteamVR related programs to use the 3070, Run VR while having AMD Radeon(TM) Graphics disabled in Device Manager, and Tried both USB-C ports.)

Forgot to add that the graphics quality in-game seems to only have a small change in fps from low to ultra in VRChat

I can’t answer all because I don’t have VR rig, but both usb c are connected directly to Nvidia gpu. I’ve also same blade 14, Optimus works only on internal screen.
