Razer Blade 15 2018 Advanced Edition battery bulge

I keep my Razer Blade 15 2018 Advanced Edition docked and connected to external monitors and peripherals. So I did not notice the battery bulge until late, but once I did, I got scared. The trackpad wasn't usable, and the keyboard area had almost popped out, and the laptop wasn't closing properly anymore. I opened up my laptop back panel, and removed the really thick, almost like a popcorn bag, battery and kept it isolated in a separate area. This is happening after 1.5 years of using this laptop as my daily driver. I kept it charged almost all the time and using it through the external monitors (connected through a Thunderbolt dock). If I understand correctly, from reading many articles, this is a valid use case. I put the back panel on, and continue to use the laptop without the battery.

The laptop is not under Razer warranty. What are my options?

Hey there! Thanks for starting this thread. And yes, please refrain from using the laptop with that swollen battery for your safety. Allow me to help you submit a case to our Support Team as they can offer out-of-warranty repair for your laptop. Please send me a PM together with your device's serial number that start's with "SN". Let's continue our conversation there.
