I got the new razer blade 15 with rtx2080 max-q right after the release, and it has terrible coil whine. I spent the past month combating this issue by returning it twice and I am currently on my third unit which has the exact same problem. I found a fix for those who don't want to waste your time returning (cuz the new unit has the same problem as well). You can lower the cpu performance to 20percent during idle, such as web browsing, checking email, watching youtube, and put it back to 100 percent when you are doing content creation/gaming, because you wont hear the coil whine under heavy fan load. This method has been helpful for me to bypass this problem, I hope it will help yall. Leave a comment below if it helps u.

Hi, I tried this and had a question for anyone that has done it. When you go to your CPU power options, do you play around with the max cpu settings or the min? And if any of them, what percentages did you use?

In processor power state? I always use 99% on battery (avoiding Turbo Boost for better battery life), and 100% on ac adapter plugged.

On daily usage like paperwork or media consumption maybe 20% isn’t problem and you’ll get better battery life than 99%, but I’m also sometimes using cpu demanding tasks on battery so 20% which is theoretically maybe running under 1ghz (max all cores 3,9), won’t feed my need. And I games also sometimes on battery, with 99% I only loose 20% performance than on ac adapter.
