Razer Blade 15 Advanced 2018 incorrect keyboard

Hi everyone. Hoping maybe I could get a bit of luck on here.

I recently bought my second ever Razer product - a 2018 Blade 15 Advanced (1070maxq, 512gbSSD, 16mbRAM, 144hz). It’s amazing, so far I love it.

I received it yesterday afternoon delivered, and after a few moments, noticed something peculiar. My keyboard seems to be German/EU and not US. The “ctrl” keys say “strg”, and in place of almost all of the punctuation keys and stuff on the right hand side are foreign characters (Ö, Ä, ß, etc) or are in different places, Return/Enter key is like an upside down L Tetris piece instead of just a bar, Left Shift is actually divided into two smaller keys - one being an extra key that doesn’t even exist on a US keyboard and types the same as the / key or something. Everything types what normally should be in that spot as Windows is set up in English, but looking at the keyboard is very confusing to have to translate.

I bought it from Amazon, under a “Warehouse Deal” (used), and got a big discount for it. The listing said the item would come repackaged, which it did, and did not say it had any damage, which it doesn’t - it’s in mint perfect condition. The listing did NOT have any mention of having a foreign keyboard layout.

I contacted Amazon customer support, and explained what was wrong. They shipped me an incorrect item from what I had ordered. The onus was on them to correct the situation but they denied any wrongdoing and said my only option was to return it for a full refund if I wasn’t satisfied.

So I’ve saved up for years, got a deal that’s not even available anymore (prices are going up and up every day), for me to wait another 3 or 4 or however many weeks to get my money back, just to order another one and have the same thing happen? They’ll send me another one with the same problem? I’m guessing this is the reason it was returned in the first place and was marked down as a warehouse deal is because someone else had the same thing happen and so it’s just going to continue a cycle of being shipped and returned because people keep ordering it and then finding out once they get it it’s not what they ordered? I offered to send it back no problem once I got a correct one and could verify it was what I ordered, but unfortunately they weren’t going to budge apparently.

I’ve opened a ticket with Razer Support to see if there’s anything they’ll do to stand by their product and make sure that this bad taste doesn’t stay in my mouth, I love the product and hate to send it back and just be out of $1500 and a laptop for who knows how long RMA is going to take or whatever, especially after waiting for so long to finally get one. Even if it was just replacement keycaps so I could have semi-normalcy, so far I haven’t recieved anything back. What are my options? I have pictures for reference as well.

Im excited to be a part of the cult but so far it hasn’t been so good!

Thanks,
Nick.

p.s. my Kraken headset is amazing and it’s why I chose to spend the extra money on another Razer product instead of going to a competitor for less. I’m ready to get a Mamba Wireless to complete the setup soon!

Update: So far no response here or in an email from Razer Support Staff regarding my open ticket. I have also found that tonight coming home from work, I got home and started my homework on the laptop. It had been plugged into the charger all night the previous night and had stayed on the charger all day at home while I was at work. The laptop was shut off when I opened it, and I powered it on to see it show a low battery (8%) which was odd, but it was charging immediately. After a while of working, I noticed that there was a faint sound of buzzing and slightly cracking and found it to be coming from the AC Power Adapter. I got nervous and googled whether that was normal, and came to the conclusion that it wasn't according to the results. I'm nervous about keeping it plugged in and I think there's a possible short circuit at the end that doesn't come disconnected from the adapter to the computer? The noise stops when I unplug the laptop, and it doesn't make noise if the adapter is only plugged into the wall and not the laptop. If I continue to use it, could it possibly explode? Definitely don't want that happening close to my bed. Any help would be great, especially from anyone from the company. I cant believe Ive only had this thing 2 days and its just one thing after another. What can I do?

Repackaged deals are quite the gamble so this is a bit tricky. Did you get the RB15 from a third-party listing on Amazon? I would like to look into your case, but I'll need you to PM me the ticket number. As for the power brick, it is definitely faulty so we'll have to start a separate RMA ticket for that to try to get it replaced ASAP.
I’ve been in a couple chats over the past couple days and tonight talked with another support rep..I wish I could remember her name, Faustine maybe? She was great and informed me that technical support team was investigating, made a note to prioritize my case and I should get an email within 24 hours (tomorrow hopefully).

Anyways. The listing was NOT third party - it was fullfilled and sold both by Amazon.com Services Inc. - Condition was marked as “Used - Very Good, Item will come repackaged” No mention of any damage indications, missing parts, or cosmetic imperfections. It was the only one that had this status, all others from Amazon Warehouse had imperfections which is why I picked this one. The price is now increased so even If I did refund, the money I’d get back WOULDNT cover another laptop and I’d have to pay out of pocket for replacement, which really sucks. I took a gamble and this was my first time ever buying anything off the Warehouse Deals sections and it seems I’ve gotten some bad mojo.

Product Listing here - note no mention of different keyboard layout (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07D37VBVD/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_lfQPDb49XY64Q)
