[razer blade 15 advanced mid-2019] Flash thunderbolt controller firmware

I updated the firmware on a lenovo dock I had through their software, but I think it also somehow overwrote or corrupted the firmware of the thunderbolt controller on my laptop. The usb-c port now only functions as a usb 3.1 port, even though the thunderbolt controller shows up in device manager and in lspci in linux.

I have been unable to find any way to directly flash firmware to the thunderbolt controller, either in windows or in linux. The closest I've seen is the razer bios updater, which looks like it contains a patch for the thunderbolt controller.

The problem is that I can't use the bios updater because I'm already at bios version 1.04, it just detects that all versions are up to date and doesn't let me force an update. Do I have any path to a resolution? Is there any way to force an update?

A third-party firmware update is not supposed to impact the thunderbolt controller of your Razer Blade 15. However, if the aforementioned action has inadvertently corrupted the controller, the firmware update may have had a bug that causes the issue on your device. Furthermore, there isn't any way to force an update with your BIOS if you currently have its latest version. For now, I suggest that you send me a PM with the serial number so I can seek device-specific troubleshooting steps.
