Dear all, I'd like to share some experience with my new Blade 15: Current Setup: (see more details below) Dual Boot (Win/Linux) using Grub - manually set the default Grub (there is GUI App as ppa: for that) Xubuntu 19.04 I shrunk the data partition under win10 by ~80GB 3rd party software + updates during install using a USB2Ethernet-Adapter create 32 GB (double RAM) swap partition, create ext4 logical partition as "/" with the rest of the 80GB I didn't divide / and userspace into separate partitions - bad style to some manually updated to Kernel 5.1.21 download the 4 *.deb files from https://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/ from the respective sub-directory Manually copied the Intel WiFi firmware into /lib/firmware/ Installed openrazer (ppa: ) Installed bumblebee Details: Nvidia RTX (X)(K)Ubuntu 18.04.2, never recognized my nvidia card automatically. Even after a Kernel Upgrade to 5.1.x/5.2.x - respectively it may have at soem point but it never offered a 3rd party driver Manjaro will do everything out of the box, so if you like Arch-based linux this would be a big hint for now Intel AX200 the intel backport driver is a pain to install sometimes due to error occurring when executing the "make" part of their guide if you update the Kernel to 5.1.16+ or 5.2.2+ it might work out of the box. It might need the correct firmware found here: https://wireless.wiki.kernel.org/en/users/drivers/iwlwifi Installing a firmware is merely copying it from the above tar archives to /lib/firmware using sudo/root Kernel The guy writing the UKUU tool went commercial so his archived ppa will only work ubuntu 18.04 LTS, 18.10 (to be cofirmed) but it will definitely not install on 19.04 Generally even the 19.04 derivates of Ubuntu differ a bit on the kernel they actually use I found that Xubuntu 19.04 (default Kernel 5.0.x) to be a good start if you like debian/ubuntu Updating the Kernel manually to 5.1.21 (most current 5.1) helped a lot 5.2.4 (most current 5.2) made my wifi not working despite the correct firmware installed X.org/Wayland X server is working so far while wayland would freeze the OS completely after logging in with bumblebee installed Open Q's: How to smoothly work with bumblebee? Do I just need to use optirun for each app I want the RTX to work with? I will write more later as I GTG for now. Feel free to use this thread for mid 2019 RTX / Intel AX200 Blades. Cheers!
