Hello,

I have a problem with my Razer Blade 15 2020, even without any program running in the background, my laptop is reaching quite high temperatures (around 70 degrees).

I would like to try the undervolt in order to get better temperatures and better performance and no longer have this noisy fan in the background.

Does anyone have any tips and tweaks for the Razer Blade 15 Advanced RTX 2080 Super Max-Q undervolt?

I searched everywhere but could not find anything on the net for this specific laptop.

thank you in advance.

Hmm, you should try more search there’s actually:big_grin_: Okay straight to the point, which bios do you running on? If you didn’t update the bios yet (I believe on 1.01?, sorry I don’t have 2020 model) there’s maybe possibility to undervolt the cpu through 3rd party software called throttlestop. If you already did that, new bios update is included plundervolt security that disable cpu undervolting on 10gen mobile CPUs. The way to make cpu cooler is by doing other traditional ways like increasing bottom areas for better air intake, using cooling pad, or finishing any update like windows that might be running the cpu on the back.

If you’re still want to enable undervolting and doesn’t care plundervolt, there’s still way to Rome but this’s a bit on another level of difficulty and might comes with a risk that you should take your own, since this’s a bit using hardware to reset the bios. Tell me if you’re ready, I’ll show the
place that might help you doing that.

Cheers
Thank you very much for your answer !

I tried using throttlestop but even at -80, the system becomes unstable and often crash (especially if i connect my laptop to an external monitor.)

If you find settings for my specific laptop, could you please post it ? It would help a lot !

Best regards.

So you can still undervolting, the screenshot I don’t understand french but I think it’s said actual 1.01 and you are recommended to update it to 1.06. I heard with 1.06 you can’t uV it anymore.
-80 hmm, on 8th gen it’s easy go with -120. Maybe factory undervolte applied? Reset it to 0 and check using HWINFO64 (sensor only) if there’s -value on CPU areas. Yes since some ports connecting directly to cpu or gpu lower undervolting value might bring system unstable. Does crashing happen also without undervolting or only on uV applied?
Salut, Hi, I am using throttle 9.0 stop ( see settings on the image) on my blade advanced 2019 with a 2070 q sync, does the trick, but probably a tiny loss on processor power, haven't noticed it tho and happy I can hear the persons around when using the laptop, So very not impressed with Razer, tried to replace fans already...still looking at that. For the price, they could have engineered something that would stay cooler.. even if it's 3mm thicker, next laptop is a Gygabite..
Reaching out to say I have the same laptop as Adriione and am having the exact same issues to a tee. Have had laptop 15 months and this just started happening a couple days ago.

Temperatures are not even very high, cores in mid-30s, and GPU 36.

May attempt to reach out to Razer support directly.

Will follow up here if find a solution
My solution was to create a new Power Plan as type "Power Saver". Everything is fine now even when demanding high CPU / GPU.
