Razer Blade 15 Chronic Webcam Problem

Hi folks. Has anyone found a workaround of DIY for the chronic webcam "not found" error people continuously report here, in Reddit, and everywhere? My mic and webcam just disappeared from my system a few weeks before warranty expired, and wasn't bale to send it in before that date.

Assuming it isn't a hardware problem- has anyone found a software solution? I have a hard time believing my internal mic and camera hardware died at the same time.

This is my work computer, I do game research as a Ph.D. candidate in the GAMER Group at the University of Washington, and I invested a substantial chunk of my meager TA stipend on this device as an investment in a good game research laptop, and I feel like it was a waste. I can't get my research game recordings done, and it is more critical now that I am doing distance work.

I already went through this rigamarole just BEFORE the warranty expired (and months after the camera failed). I have been doing research, and your company knows damn well this is a known issue. Your defect rate is grossly high, and I got strung along. Unless you're going to repair my webcam for me, I'd rather hear from someone who might have found a jury rigged or alternative solution so I don't have to pay $700 to fix a problem you already knew about, and strung me along about.

Your point is well taken. As a moderator, we want to move things along by providing suggestive steps and escalating it to our Support Team if it needs further assistance. Don't hesitate to send me or the other mods a PM.
