We all know the Law of Razer Blade Refreshes; which states that for each annual refresh of the Razer Blade, a wishlist thread will be posted for the next iteration. This law has never failed to hold true in these forums so I figure that I'll start one here for everyone to post what they want to see in the next Razer Blade.

It's expected that we could be seeing the new Nvidia GeForce 11 (tentative name) series sometime this year so I figure that it would be a good idea to start posting some of what we want before production to let Razer know what we want to see in the next iteration. The Razer Blade 15 is a near-perfect device but here are some of what I wish to see in the next iteration:

    1. Gunmetal and Mercury color options with Chroma. While black is a good color, some of us would want the option of being able to choose another color. I personally liked the subtle and more professional design that the gunmetal Razer Blade Stealth has but I would prefer to have it with Chroma lighting since I would still have the option to turn it off or change the color to white when needed. While at home gaming, I would be able to sync the Chroma lighting with my other Razer peripherals.
    2. Less expensive glossy screen option. While there are a lot who prefer matte display, there are some of us who prefer glossy display. Advantages of glossy display is that the colors appear more vibrant and looks a lot more appealing. I think it would be great for there to be a cheaper glossy display option which would discard 4K and touchscreen in favor of a 1440p display with 90-120Hz refresh rate.
    3. Mechanical keyboard. I had the opportunity to check out the Razer Blade Pro in person and I do have to say that the mechanical keyboard feels amazing to press. The tactile feedback is amazing and the Razer brand is known for having amazing keyboards. It's a shame that it can only be obtained by those who spend over $3000 for a Razer Blade Pro or those with an iPad who could spend just $170 to have low profile mechanical keys.
    4. A solid ecosystem and Razer Phone synergy. An idea I have would be for Razer to take advantage of the Razer Phone and use it to sync with the Razer Blade. Maybe use the Razer Phone as a second screen to remotely control Synapse and Chroma lighting without having to tab out of games.
    5. Liquid metal cooling or better thermal paste. Investing in this would show better thermals in Razer Blade reviews and would potentially reduce customer returns since the laptops would be a lot less likely to break from overheating. A lot of users buying the Razer Blade are already pasting liquid metal and risking damage so I think it would be a great idea to have liquid metal applied by default.
    6. THX Certification. For whatever reason, the Razer Blade 15 is not THX Certified while the Razer Phone and Razer Blade Pro are. From reviews, it also appears that the Apple MacBook Pro has better and louder sounding speakers than the Razer Blade 15.
    7. Improved Linux Support. This is one of the biggest improvements I believe the Razer Blade could feature. There are a lot of consumers who are left with no options but to use MacBook Pro because of their dislike for Windows. However, improving Linux support could really allow Razer to take some of the market share from Apple. Some of the popular Linux distributions Razer could take a look at to support are Ubuntu, Debian, Red Hat, openSUSE, and maybe even Chrome OS. For gamers, there is also SteamOS.
Although I'm not sure how much the next GeForce GPUs will cost, if it stays similar to the price of the original GeForce 10 series then it should be cheaper than the current Max-Q laptops so I believe Razer could make some of these improvements without forcing many to sell their organs.

Feel free to post any other features, improvements, and innovations Razer could make to improve the next iteration of the Razer Blade.

Everything looks great! I would love to see all of the above. I would also love a fingerprint sensor / a facial recognition camera, as well!
Still, I would prefer they lower the price a couple hundred dollars as a final tweak :)

Does nvidia habe already ETA? How could you be confidence with 2018? I don’t see any real leak, only poeple who like making rumors on nvidia subreddit.

I know it's not realistic, but the biggest draw for me was always the 14" form factor. I wish that the new iteration had gotten smaller than the previous generation, not bigger.

Many people will be happy that the screen is bigger and the hardware is beefier, but I would be salivating for a revised, more compact 14" Blade with a 1060 or equivalent that also made use of the vapor chamber.

    My hopes:

-Change the keyboard layout and quality.
Bigger key no uo arrow before the shift key.

    -offer gumletwl option

-reduce the speaker space( for a larger keyboard. Now the key are very small) but try to improve the quality.

-offer a cpu option like for the gpu. Now gaming is not often cpu limited. But the thermal with the 6 core in the 15 are not good. That cup is not I think the best choice for a gaming laptop. Another cup 4 core with better thermal would offer a better overall experience.

-work on thebfan profile so that when just browsing internet they don't randomly kick off.

    - put a better webcam, that a 2500 $computer, it deserve something better than a poor 720p webcam( that gives the feeling of being the same you find on a 300$ latop).

That the small thing that I would love to see happening.

Razer is so close from proposing the best.

And please work on your quality check. Just like colour gamut etc etc Razer should garante an amount of screen bleeding. Those screen issue fully destroy the experience of using this laptop.

Just no. The keyboard on the Blade Pro is awful.
I haven't tried the Blade 15 yet, but the keyboard on the Blade 14 is one of the best reviewed laptop keyboard around. Plus, mechanical = thicker laptop

It could be nice, but I'm not sure if it's worth it for Razer to put more money on R&D for Linux, while only a tiny % of their consumer base would make use of it. And don't forget that more $$$ on R&D is more $$$ out of your wallet when your purchase the product.

As for my wishes, I just want better thermals for the Blade 15 :)

It's getting closer and closer. We should be expecting a New Razer Blade 15 and a New Razer Blade Pro sometime soon when the GeForce 11 GPU comes out. I'm expecting October or November 2018.

With all the complaints about backlight bleed in the current Razer Blade 15, I'm hoping that there will be an option to get at least 90Hz 1440p glossy display option of the Razer Blade 15 with GeForce GTX 1170 or 1160 since the backlight bleed problem is mostly found in matte displays.

Usually around a month before costumers GPU comes out it’ll come also benchmark leaks, but I don’t see it yet. Though i hope it’ll be soon so the ti Version also comes earlier since I need that for my core.

    There are these benchmark leaks:

There also these sources that indicate an upcoming GeForce 11 release:

I'm skeptical of the second benchmark "leak" though. But talks about the GeForce 11 series have been floating around for a while now. The GeForce 10 series is over 2 years old and this is a very long time between two generations of video cards. The strongest indicators for me though is the YouTube video with the Lenovo rep casually mentioning the GeForce 1180 and the Gigabyte rep mentioning that the GeForce 11 Mobility GPU for laptops will be out around the end of the year.

Personally, I think the new GPU will be out soon™ and I would be surprised if Razer doesn't ship a new laptop by the end of this year. If Razer waits any longer, they would lose out on early consumers who want laptops with the new GPU asap.

We were talking about that mentioned website anandatech and wccftech on nvidia forum, none of those are legit and correct. Yes one nvidia partners company staff mentioned the release these year but no legit benchmarks yet.

What about these new ones? Can you verify if these are legit?

I personally feel like a lot of these "leaks" are contradicting each other but the cards are nonetheless due soon since it's been too long of a wait. I'm personally hoping for a Gamescom reveal. The sooner they announce a new GPU, the sooner we could see it in laptops.

Well gamescom at this end of the month will answer that, sooner it’s released, xx80 ti Version will come also sooner sometime in the next year, that’s for my core upgrade;)

And here comes the hype-train, the next-generation Nvidia GeForce GPU has been announced!

Bring out the New Razer Blade 15 2018 with GeForce RTX 2060/2070! I have my money ready for the next Razer Blade with Turing technology. Hopefully it will have both black painted vapor chamber and SSD thermal pads lol.

RTX gpu seems not as power efficient as Pascal, for comparison desktop Gtx 1070 tdp 150 Watt vs 2070 175 Watt, 1070 laptops is 115 watt and 1070maxq on Blade 15 is 80 Watt. So maybe they have to make improvement again to manage thermal, and that also needs bigger cooling room. I think they’ll do that on Blade Pro refresh rather than Blade 15. Blade 15 with maxq 1070 is just perfect Balance portability and performance, maybe on 2060 but we don’t hear it yet. They also didn’t mention at all performance gain against Pascal unlike previous, I think it won’t be huge, from 1080ti and 2080ti it’s around 11,5 vs 14,2 Tflops, maybe around 22% performance bump, unlike 980ti vs 1080ti which is around 60%, so this time is on quality rather than performance. Though it’s just my theory;) Let’s see real world benchmarks:)
