Hello,

I just bought a razer blade 17 laptop from 2021 (rz09-0406AGA3) from someone else, and when i got home i found out that I have a german keyboard layout instead of the normal US layout.

Since razer doesn't sell keycaps, I was wondering if someone knows where to get those key caps, or maybe even an entire keyboard with US layout so that i can switch the key caps myself.

Any help would be appreciated!

You need to replace entire keyboard and most probably top chassis (wrist rest).

I am okay with buying an entire new keyboard, and then replace as many key caps as possible. I am not going to replace the entire wrist rest.

But since razer does not sell these, do you have any idea where to buy a keyboard for this model?

But US QWERTY and DE QWERTZ keyboard both have different layout (for eg. short left shift, instead wide one in US ver).

Yes i know, but that is only 2 keys, I am okay if it's only these 2 keys that are not matching. I would like to have the special character keys on the right side.

You have two ways buy used keybord for your model and replace it or send to Razer for replacing. Becose of diffrent dimensions of some keybord keycaps replaceing just keycaps give you not the same confort of use like original. Second thing is you can find just keycaps for buy but it is very expensive for one you must pay 19,99$ Useed keybord is also not cheap. The best is your case will be send to Razer and replaceing it there you will have peace of mind everyting will work as should be and fit also you will get warranty for it.

I am in the same situation as you. but mine has a french layout instead of US english. I also have the same model as yours. I was wondering if the easiest solution would not be to leave all other keys as they are and simply swap the few letters needed. For example in your case swap Y with Z. In my case I would need to swap Q with A. I am just not sure if the keycaps come out easily and can be put back in place. If anyone have this information it would be great to share it.

It's fairly easy, but you have to be careful, because it's easy to break/bend the scissor mechanism.

I will say dont recommend to do so if you dont have expiriance becose on the switch you have little thin plastic wings that lock keycap in place and they are very easy to brake. If you really want to take them out and you dont have expiriance to do so ask someone or go to local repair shop. Keybords on razer laptops are very exoensive and on after market hard to get them.

Thank you very much for this 🙂
