  2. Thank you. I would be interested in seeing the benchmarks and FPS for AAA games. I am running a 1080 FE in my Core with a MSI GS40. Overall I am very pleased with the set up but I am not able to max out all settings on the 3440-1440p ultrawide. Based on the benchmarks above I would be able to reach my gaming graphics goals with the Titan XP.

    Super cool...

I will note there has been discussions the Core has a max point so anything more than a 1080 would be a waste but the above benchmarks imply otherwise.

That is what I saw long ago leading me to preorder and purchase Alienware 17 with 1080 and Aorus x7 v6 DT with 1080 but after seeing the thread I referred to, I was wrong. According to the spec from core, it will handle any graphics card until the new PCIE is adoped in long future and problems will only occur in 1080p due to bandwidth or something (I am no rocket scientist, don't quote me on wordings). Thread above with Titan XP on core shows 5-10% lose from core with Razer blade and considering that, it should outperform 1080FE. I will probably upload benchmarks only on 4k resolution as I have one 4k TV but also to give better comparison cause core + egpu is only comparable with desktop at higher resolutions. To sum it up, I think the thread you saw about core not being able to handle such over 1080 is due to firmware and etc, at least if we quote on the thread I related to. Well, I will see how it goes and let you know.
Anyone else who wants me to post specific game, if I happen to have them in my steam or buy them, I will upload fps at 4k (I won't even try to game at less than any resolution under 4k cause like your 1080FE, it won't perform at your or my expectation at lower resolution due to the bandwidth)

Wouldn't it be nice if when I/O evolves enough that they had a Core that could do SLI/Crossfire so that you could buy two 1080s and not waste your money on a Titan XP...

Technically speaking, unless core gets twice or more bigger that wouldn't happen :slightly_sad: . It would be nice but at least for me, I always preferred one single best gpu in the market since I played many mmos and games that did not support SLI :D

It would be awesome to have Titan XP SLIed which I will do if I had that option (I spend sheit tons of money for my hobbies)

For the games that do not currently support SLI/CrossFire, you could take off the SLI Bridge when going to play them and run the secondary card in PhysX, which, while not as big of an improvement as SLI, would enable better performance and graphics settings.
  7. I think for the core there is no substantive difference between a 1080 and a Titan X Pascal. Thunderbolt 3 would be the bottleneck.

  8. But what about the benchmarks in the OP? I am only hitting 4600 with the Core and 1080. Seems to be a substantial improvement in benchmark test. The post is showing 5900+.

Tb3 will not bottleneck, its either bottlenecking from low resolution(cores bandwidth) or from firmware and cpu.

Ok I am editing this, just checked the video I mentioned from Linus again. Not many games support PhysX and it can even hinder or increase fps so little by such 1fps~2fps increase so I guess I am right :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
