    Hi everyone,

i modded the bios of the Razer Blade 2014 a little while ago.

So now i finished the modding of the Razer Blade 2016 Bios.

Its almost the same like the old Bios Mod.

There are very nice things to play in there, like overklocking options...:)

    So lets get started:

    BIOS MOD

    What you will need:

    - AFUWINGUI for Aptio V
    - AMIBCP_v5.0.1
    - Optional one of my modded Bios

    AFUWINGUI for Aptio V

    Just Download

    https://ami.com/download-license-agreement/?DownloadFile=AMIBIOS_and_Aptio_AMI_Firmware_Update_Utility.zip

You will find the AFUWINGUI in this directory:

    AMIBIOS_and_Aptio_AMI_Firmware_Update_Utility\amiflash\AptioV\afu\afuwin\64

Unpack it it and its ready to go.

It looks like this when you start it:

Just hit the SAVE Button and it will be dumped ;)

To modify the Bios you will need AMIBCP v5.0.1

Older Versions wont work. It at least did not work for me.

    http://www.mediafire.com/download/irxk9p1m43kfk68/AMIBCP_v5.0.1.7Z

Just start it and open the file you dumped. It looks like this now (old pics-but same process):

On the Left side you can choose the directories and on the right side you can enable them.

Just change the values you want to see in your BIOS to USER in the ACCESS/USE Section

Dont change things like FAILSAVE or OPTIMAL. These are Lifesavers. Trust me.

Save it (DO NOT OVERWRITE YOUR BIOS DUMP)

    Make a new one!

Then just go back to AFUWINGUI press OPEN and then FLASH.

    Works.

I have made 2 modded BIOS Files:

This is my original Razer Blade 2016 Bios:

ENABLED BIOS ( I enabled some features, but if anyone enables ALL of it please share it!)

I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FAILURE YOU MAKE

If you want to be sure, just mod your bios your self. I just showed how you can do it.

so thats it with the BIOS mod. Very simple

IF YOUR RAZER BLADE WONT BOOT AFTER CHANGING SOME VALUES IN THE BIOS:

    UNPLUG THE BATTERY
UNPLUG THE BIOS BATTERY. ITS ON THE LEFT SIDE NEAR THE LEFT SPEAKER WITH TWO WIRES
    LET THEM UNPLUGGED
PRESS POWER BUTTON FOR SOME SECONDS
    PLUG IN AC POWER SUPPLY
    PRESS POWER BUTTON

then just plug in all the things you unplugged again :) (Please be wise and Power off/ unplug Power Supply before you plug everything into everywhere)

if it wont help try it one more time. it helped me alot.
If you changed the FAILSAVE values, this wont help you anymore. Buy a new BIOS or desolder it and Flash it with a Flasher.

HOPE YOU LIKE IT, IF THERE ARE MODS OR ANYTHING THAT MAKE THE BLADE EVEN BETTER, PLEASE SHARE IT!!!

    Thank you,

I don't think this mod is a good idea, it probably voids your warranty for multiple reasons. I certainly won't do that with my blade, that's for sure.

BIOS mods can be pretty dangerous, and I don't want to risk screwing with my $2,200 machine. If you want to overclock, just use and oc tool like MSI Afterburner or something.

If it would be able to change cooling policy ...

this mod is not for casual users. if you are insecure or to afraid of making something wrong, you should not try it. when you have soome skills and knowhow about it it is safe to 100 precent. people with knowhow just flash the bios chip directly if a problem accures. its just putting some wires to the right places and dumping the whole bios. not much of an effort for some people.

That doesn't change the fact that it voids your warranty. For example, lets say for some reason one of your speakers don't work and you want to RMA, Razer reserves the right to deny RMA if you've even opened up your blade, let alone overclocked it.

That doesn't change the fact that for 1k-2k USD we buy unreliable hardware such that even Razer does not want to repair.

Razer doesn't mind repairing it when it isn't modded, in fact my unit is currently in RMA for the right speaker not sounding good.

its common sense to know that modding the bios is voiding your waranty. its not for kids that dont know how to use it. its for the ones that apriciate it and know how to use it. you should not use it if you are not made for that kind of risk. i have no problem with it and can handle the danger very well.

Please no more voiding waranty here and voiding waranty there. thats not the reason i am sharing this. its for the ones that make something useable out of it.

I mean I understand situation on the market (I do not actually) but I want them to be responsible for components. Not for a black box.
