Okay so again on battery status.
Another thing i noticed is that if fast boot is active while booting up the battery drain almost doubles. Same if i go to Hibernating mode.

(Im not sure what it is called in english, but not the sleep mode, the advanced sleep mode where it turns almost off, but is restarting faster)

If i restart, where fast boot is deactivated, or deactivate it myself i again get arround 7-8 hours battery life. So my advice is, turn off fast boot and deactivate that it goes to hibernate mode after 60min sleep mode.

How are you removing this "advanced sleep mode" ?

you go under battery plan settings, then under advanced.
it says save energy or something and then the third option should say hibernation mode and on battery should be put on 60min. Just type in 0 and it should say never.

Decided to try the Blade one more time, I just love it too much as an overall laptop. Got lucky and snagged the last one from my Microsoft store a few hours ago, 512gb version. Thrilled that I got a pixel perfect and uniform / bright white screen just like the 1st one I received. FYI, the system came with the updated firmware / EC4 already on it which is cool.

Updated everything, removed Killer software, etc. Still a low 9000 FS score. And the fans in quiet mode are still louder than my original Blade pre-EC4. Oh well, neither issue bothers me and I'm keeping this one. 3rd time's a charm for me.

so when checking on speccy it seems that every time the razer blade seems to be using the 1060 and never the internal gpu this would reduce battery life at all? or temps? is there anything I can do to fix that?
    any help is appreciated

EDIT: the razer blade 1060 is supposed to come 6GB DDR5 1060 right? speccy says it is a 2048mb is it possible that speccy is making a mistake? how can I make sure?

    Hi all.

I just decideed to pull my trigger to get the RB in Microsoft store and it is arrived today. I want to test how many score Fire Strike I can get with stock. Could anyone tell me where can I get the Fire Strike test for free. I remember I have read on this thread there is some source about free Fire Strike test, but cannot remember what page.

    Hope someone can help!

The truth is, sata3 ssd are already really fast, hard to tell the difference in my view. Perhaps when transferring large files, but again when transferring large files to a ssd in a usb enclosure the speed is limited to the usb 3.0 speed...so one would only see the full speed of the NVME drives when transferring large files to itself. The 4k reads and writes are better than the sata3 drives but not by that much to see a big difference.
The samsung 950 pro is definitely faster than the 256gb drive that came with the laptop, which is the PM951 nvme...which has good read speeds but the write speeds I was getting only 300Mbs which is slower than other sata3 drives like the 850 evo.

The drive in the RB is NVME, while the 850 evo is Sata III. There is an option in BIOS for SATA, but I am not sure it will work....perhaps somebody has tried already to confirm this. The 860 evo NVME should release soon, very fast drive...expensive at around 480 bucks or so for the 1tb version, but for this kind of drive, it is actually a good value compared to the Pro version or other brands like the OCZ RD400 NVME.

Haven´t had time to mess around that much with my new RB, but if it is using the gtx1060 on battery....perhaps in the nvidia control panel you can set it to use integrated graphics...and then when you want...select it to gtx1060....I would think the default auto select would choose the integrated graphics on battery for non demanding applications.

Was this on the Blades display or using an external display?

I had never OC before...but I installed afterburner...did a basic 140/200 OC and got 9759. Happy with that I suppose, considering I was getting 9200 without OC.

I have a question....I read here it is best to uninstall Geforce experience....I did that...but have no idea why....why is that recommended? I noticed on nvidia site new driver 376.19, I am on 376.09....kind of nice getting the new driver notification in Geforce experience instead of checking regularly the nvidia site. Also, is it usually recommended to always update to the newest driver? Clean install of course...but I wonder is it even better to use DDU to uninstall the older driver? Thanks.

I received my blade. love it, fans are really quiet, undervolted to -155. Played wow on 5 settings for a while and and temps were in the low 60s, the fans were super quiet compared to my 15r3, but the thing is they spin even at idle. Is there a way to stop them or drop the rpms lower. Its not loud but in a quiet room and doing nothing on the computer i can hear the fans.
  14. The heat will produced every seconds since the PC consumes electricity. :) ...
Try using a stand for the laptop. The temps are even much lower when there's more space between fans and table.

it doesn't bother me, low 60s isnt bad, I am idling at 33s. the 15r3 was 45-50 even with repasting a couple times.

How did you undervolt it? Afterburner didn't seem to let me touch voltage at all.
  17. You can use the Intel Extreme Tuning Utility.

so i just tried to undervolt my Blade with XTU, and reached -0,220V with no bluescreen or anything after stress testing.
Am i missing something or does that sound possible ?

How long was your stress test? Sometimes it takes a while before it crashes
