Man, that is some canned response they got from a script. I hate it when they do that, it's like talking to a wall. You need to escalate, Level 1 support isn't going to be of help here.

You better RMA it for replacement as it's clearly a hardware issue. The funny thing is is that in my case they still can't reproduce the issue on their end!!

I feel that there shouldn't be any need to explain this but here goes. Our Support Team has the responsibility to advise you on all the necessary troubleshooting steps first before taking any additional action on this.

That aside, @Silvwy we've dropped you a direct message to find out more about your case.

So i have been following this thread since the day it was created and the issues that people are posting here are kinda scary tbh. One wouldn't expect this from 1800+ flagship machine.

Now on topic, Razer according to recent mail should send my RB tomorrow. Whoever asked for FHD model pictures in earlier posts, i will post em. And hopefully if i don't have any issues i will also do some benchmarks. RB will be my first ever Razer product so fingers crossed my start isn't disappointing.

The 1060 will definitely carry you through the next 3 years! I still use my Razer Edge and that came out in 2013, lol. My Edge can still run League and Smite, etcetera, but does struggle a bit with Overwatch. But considering the immense strides the new gpu architecture has made that 1060 should last you much longer than most previous hardware generations!

Just adding my voice here as another potential Razer customer who's concerned about these issues! I'll be watching this thread to inform my decision of whether or not to order the new Razer Blade.
As a side note, it's nice to see folks helping each other out with courtesy and respect on a web forum. Kind of rare. Keep it up! :smile_:

Couldn't agree more. Considering that it looks like multiple people are having this identical issue I won't be pulling the trigger until I see a reasonable explanation/solution. I was really looking forward to this laptop especially since the macbook announcement was blah. Though I am curious to see just how far behind the 1060 these new Radeon Pro 4xx's are.

This is quite a saddening thread to see. For a product that cost 2k I would expect it to encounter less problems. I was excited because on Amazon they started shipping to my country ( Malaysia ) but after doing more reading I really don't wanna take the risk because it'll be difficult to get help since the Razer market in Malaysia isn't as updated as the Singaporean one.

I was first very excited to see the blade stealth and core combo for gaming but I had no way of getting the core so I gave up on that. I was torn between the msi gs63vr and the blade but after this thread I have to reconsider my choice.

Thanks for your reply. Yesterday, I cancelled my Alienware purchase, successfully with a 45 minute phone call. But it was a pleasant experience, both during purchase and during the cancelation process.
I think Razer should have a phone support for Customers during a purchase and post sales. But that's again just my 2 cents.
When I learnt that ASUS does not have an integrated graphics chip, I was disappointed. I usually play coop games and indie games and I think, I should be fine with my use.
I had a few questions, in my mind.
Does RAZER offer extended warranty to cover for stuff like failing motherboards post 1 year from purchase?
    Does it replace batteries?
How often does one replace a gaming laptop?
I see RAZER core, does make a difference in extending the gaming usability of the laptop. I am using a macbook pro for grad school, but it sucks when it comes to gaming. And with the recent release of the macbook pro, with function keys gone, the current macbook will be the last apple computer I own. The function keys were my shortcuts to tasks of some of the softwares I use for CAD.

Does the blade have precision touchpad from microsoft? Was using dell XPS 15 and loved it, would be suck if the blade didn't include that and have synaptics trackpad cause the precision trackpad gonna be more awesome over time. BTW how loud is the fans noise when playing like Dota 2 @1080p max?

@SayZer That was me who asked for pics, I'm really interested in seeing if the matte bezel still looks nice, as I have the QHD+ model at the moment and the glossy looks great. I know someone with a 2015 FHD model and the matte bezels look very cheap. I am just trying to get a good look before I decide whether to get QHD+ or FHD :) Oh, and don't worry about that 2015 model looking cheap, the pics I've seen of the 2016 FHD so far seem to look very nice.

@Dat1224 Idk about Dota, but with my early 2016 Blade (GTX 970m) I run Battlefield 1 on medium to high settings at 60-90 FPS. If I'm using speakers, while playing I can't even tell, I forget about them. However, if you shut your sound of for a moment or there's a pause in all the game sounds, it sounds like a quieter version of a college dorm vacuum cleaner. With a headset on, it isn't even noticeable.

Well imma play mostly with headset on anyway just wanna be sure the noise won't be too loud when i'm play something with speakers. And any of u find a screen protector for the QHD+ model? I can't find one anywhere ( cover all the bezel? ). Btw still wonder about that trackpad.

How's the thermals of the laptop?
  14. The Radeon pro 460 (the one in the highest MacBook Pro 15) is around the same as a GTX 965M, but which a much lower TDP. It's actually pretty impressive.. but the 1060 is still well above the pro 460 in terms of raw performance..
  15. Mate, agree
460 has 1.9Tflops, GTX 1060 4.5Tflops. The difference is huge, massive I think.

I've been waiting more than two years for the update in the Macbook Pro. Yesterday I was really disappointing with Apple including a low profile GPU. They can claimed that the mac gpu is PRO and bla bla bla. To be honest, I'm a professional user, who works in VFX field. 460 to me is useless for 3D (About video editing I have no idea), and in terms of RAW power, the 1060 is far beyond.

I'm in ,here, due of I need an extreme mobility I´m going to buy the new razor blade with Pascal gpu, one product brilliant and well balanced.

I know they used to offer extended warranties, I had the option of buying one when I got my Edge a few years ago, but I currently can't fin anything about it on the store page, so that is something to ask store support about I guess.

As for how often do you replace them? Probably about 4 years for most laptops, for one that expensive I would hope at least 5, lol. Depends though, my uncle has the same macbook he's been using for the last 10 years. Razer stuff tends to last a while so when you replace it is entirely up to you.

And as for the core, that is mainly intended for use with the Stealth but would work just fine with a regular blade as well, it would just mean that you would use an external GPU instead of the internal one, but you would of course need to buy the external GPU to put in the Core. Would it effect the longevity of the device? Eh? Maybe? I mean technically if the GPU within the Blade wasn't in use it wouldn't be generating as much heat so it would in theory maybe help a little but it probably wouldn't be by a large margin.

This was posted by a user in another thread if you haven't seen it yet, it's been the best picture I've been able to find so far of the FHD.

@Dat1224 If you have a headset it definitely won't be. And it's doubtful it will when you are using speakers. I believe Dota is also a much less demanding game than bf1, so I would assume the fans would be less noticeable.

@Lunatics I did see that one, I'm just also trying to see as many as I can because of how it looks in different lighting/angles. That picture is the best I've seen yet, it looks good. I just wanna make sure I'll be satisfied after being treated with the QHD for a while :)

As I and a few others have posted, that is clearly _not_ a hardware issue. It's a software clock selection bug. Presumably driver or SBIOS, which can be fixed in a patch.

Still an issue that needs to be fixed, sure. But everyone should chill a bit on RMAing. This is not a Razer system quality problem.

I was worried about quality issues as well. But my Razer Blade has been rock solid so far. And quite a few of the issues being reported in this thread sound like driver bugs, not hardware defects.

It's natural for people to blame what they see as the newest part of the equation (the laptop) as the source of bugs. But the 1060 is very new too. Cost of being an early adopter is riding out the software updates.

For me the other contenders for similar features and solid construction were Dell XPS 15 (which I personally had multiple hardware issues with, as have many others), and - I thought - the updated Macbook Pro 15. But the MBP looks to be a disappointment in terms of GPU perf, and I don't want to Bootcamp a system with no physical Fn or Esc keys. I'm glad I went with the Razer.
