Razer Blade 2019, G-Sync options.

What are you folks doing to get Nvidia G-Sync to run on your 2019 Razer blade (15 advanced or Pro) models to work, if at all (this includes external displays).

I contacted Nvidia directly to verify this however. G-Sync is only supported over DisplayPort. The 2019 pro does not have a DisplayPort (port), which again according to Nvidia, is the only port that works with G-sync.

The 2019 15" advanced blade does have a DisplayPort (port) <DPP>, although there is no clear documentation weather or not it is directly connected to the GPU.

Any answers help (hopefully with some proof) would be greatly appreciated.

On a side note, if the 2019 pro doesn't have G-sync on the main monitor (none of the 2019 Razer laptops do) and doesn't have a DPP, who the heck is it for???

Can you please specify which model Razer you have?

I did do some looking about- did find this cable as well.

I've used this cable on RB 14" 7700hq 1060, RB 15" 8750h 1070, 9750h 2070. You can expect the same to work on the 17" pro, the thunderbolt port will support it, I do not know about the second USB C port.

Doesn't the thunderbolt Port have to be directly connected to the GPU?

USB C doesn’t support adaptive and limited to 10gbs bandwidth so theoretically it doesn’t support g sync unlike TB3 (note this is also depends OEM configuration, like previous Blade Pro 4K tb3 isn’t connected to nvidia gpu which made it couldn’t output g sync, this’s also confirmed by PCworld, take a look at video review 1:45)

So, it is directly connected to the GPU, well thank God there. So, can anyone give this a try to confirm?

Hold your horses, a buddy will try his gsync Monitor with his new Blade Pro, maybe busy (in his life or gaming:smile_:) or waiting usb c to DP cable.

I'm on it. I didn't think the thunderbolt port worked with g-sync so I didn't bother. But, now that it seems that it might I ordered the one listed on amazon. Should be here tomorrow. Tomorrow is my friday so once I get off work I'll try it out and report back. If it doesn't work I'll try the one @rb6freak listed and see if that one works.

This will save me alot of trouble if it works as I won't have to get an egpu and graphics card to use g-sync on my external monitor.
Have the Blade Pro 2019.
Ordered a usbc T3 to DP cable, G-Sync is working perfect on my external monitor.

G-sync is working? Which cable are you using? Just incase the one I have coming doesn't work.
Yes sir, G-Sync is working perfectly.
Purchased at Amazon..

For 1080p gaming Blade 14 is quite strong imo, if you want higher fresh rate, how about buying external monitor with Redtube Beeg Spankbang higher fresh rates? Well Blade 14 was made for mobility power, put higher fresh rate would kill the battery a lot, it’s kind of trade off. If you want something stronger you can buy the core and eGPU in the future like my setting...plan;)
Well sorry for the delay. I did get the USB-c to Display port cable up and running. Was very straight forward to get it running at the 3440x1400 resolution and g-sync does indeed work. So just buy a decent cable and you're ready to turn your laptop into a desktop replacement. :wink_:

I recently connected my g-sync monitor to my razer blade 15 advanced 2019 RTX2070 max q through the mini display-port and could activate g-sync without having any trouble.
