Razer Blade logo chroma lighting

Discussion in 'Systems' started by tianenchong, Feb 16, 2017.

Do you want chroma lighting on razer blade logo?

  1. I want chroma lighting for razer blade logo

  2. I prefer non chroma logo(like the current one)

  1. Wouldn't razer blade look nicer if the logo can incorporate chroma lighting so it glows like the logo on the mouse does?

My guess is they use the backlight from the screen to light up the razer logo. if they were to put more LEDs in there to get a chroma effect it would probably make the screen thicker, and im not sure thats something they want to do at the moment. unless they engineer a way to keep it the same thickness and cram more LEDs in there.

But yeah, it would be awesome if it was chroma :)

They dont use the screen backlight to light up the logo like apple does, because if they did, why are you able to enable and disable the logo backlight in synapse?

I would definitely like that a lot! Green is nice, but it's a bit restrictive, I love being able to change the colours with my mood and to match the environment it's in. With a custom coloured light you could also match it better to any skins you might want to get :)

but how much would that impact the battery life?

dont know how it is for the stealth .. butt the gtx 1060 blade 14 defenetly uses the screenbacklight

  10. Yeah, the 1060 model uses the screen backlight. When you dim the display, the logo dims. Hence no chroma obviously, it's just white light through a green filter. A chroma logo would be proper cool though.

Yup...one of the long-standing critiques about the Blade. The THS logo isn't chroma enabled because it's backlit with the screen. A lot of laptop lid logos are lit this way. I prefer chroma because of choice.
  12. I'll have to check when I get to the office, but I believe mine turns off when I deselect the logo button in synapse...

i think it depends on the model you have or type of screen ;) im not shure but i heard that the qhd version / 4k version has a slightly thicker screen

I think in near future it will support chroma, but I guess only in touch screen. Considering touchscreen model has some other lighting system on the logo which can be controlled via synapse. But I think they have to make a new engineering system to connect chroma from keyboard to logo like Alienware one on the screens side which will take maybe more space or trouble because its thin cassis. If the logo near the keyboard, it will be much easier.

Yeah it's pretty cool that you can change the Alienhead logo to glow whatever color you want. I think giving users that choice is a no-brainer, especially when it's something that a lot of users have expressed desire for. But in this case, I guess it's more of a technical/hardware design limitation so it's a tougher problem. They would have to re-design the lid portion if they wanted to 'chromatize' the THS.
