Razer Blade Pro 2014 Laptop Keyboard not working - Windows Update

Good morning,

As a result of the latest updates pushed by Microsoft, my Razer Blade Pro 2014's keyboard and touchpad have ceased to function. To access the device, I used the Windows onscreen keyboard feature.
Actions taken to date:
I uninstalled Synapse, downladed the latest version, and still no luck
I uninstalled one of the the updates and restarted - no luck
I think it is probably associated with the way that the keyboard and touchpad are joined to Internet Explorer (I remember reading that it was through IE that the features of the touchpad were enabled).
What drivers/software should I try to install to restore functionality?
Thank you

Addendum: The Synapse software 2.0 downloaded requested the installation package "razer Synapse 2.0 msi" but returned The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.
I assume that this means that the installer cannot set up a temp folder or the executable is pointing to the msi where it should be pointing to the *.exe file (?).
Thus the upgrade to Synapse 2.0 failed.
Thank you
Update: Synapse was successfully installed by de-installing it using safe mode (some folder items were still in use by a process even after restarts). Keyboard and touchpad are both non-functional and dark. Synapse 2.0 (latest) does not recognize the laptop or load its functionality.
