Razer Blade Pro 2019?

Well, it's now 2019, 20 series mobile graphics cards are officially unveiled, and Razer has refreshed 2 of its 3 laptop models in the past year; the Blade 15 and, more recently, the Blade Stealth. So, what's the deal with the Blade Pro? The Blade 15 has been updated 3 separate times since the summer of last year. People have been practically begging for a Blade Pro refresh for a while now, so when can we expect one (if even at all)? It's the oddball of the Razer trilogy currently, being the only one out of the trio rocking outdated hardware and designs, and is overdue for a nice refresh like the other two (imho). What do you guys think?

Keep saving your money if you aiming Blade Pro with RTX. No one know when Razer update it though, but it’s not easy putting full 2080 inside Blade Pro sexy thin body, and it should be featuring all features on Blade 15 with even better features for the liver you sold;) I would let them testing it longer for better product and not rushing like other manufacturers that already listing it on their high end model. I think this was the Blade 15 success key to be the better gaming performance compared to its competitors on last gen.

Good point. As much as it hurts having to wait and wait for the next beast laptop, I guess I would rather it be solid at launch than rushed and problematic. Razer seems to be better with handling and preventing hardware and software bugs recently, so hopefully that carries over to the (hypothetical) new BP. Besides, for the price, it better be perfect (or damn near perfect) :big_grin_:

I dunno. I got 5 racks burning a hole in my pocket right now. Would rather not wait for an RTX blade pro.

This 100%. Would buy right now if it were out.

I went with the "not sure" response, only because I think it would be great if they could pull it all together, but I already know I can't afford any of the current iterations of the Blade, let alone a more expensive one. So, yeah, it's an awesome idea, but no I couldn't buy it.
Blade 15 has option for...

RTX 2080
16 GB RAM, upgradable to 64 GB
i7-8750H
4K Screen

Honestly that's like the exact same thing as a Blade Pro, just way better. I think Razer is being very clear that the Blade 15 is meant as the replacement for the Blade Pro.

Disagree. It's only "better" because the pro hasn't been updated in a year. You're still missing the larger screen, beefier internals, etc. If you think the regular blade is great right now, imagine an updated blade pro. We don't need the 15" to be updated again and again when what is supposed to be Razer's most powerful laptop is now considerably outdated and inferior in comparison to competitors' other available laptops and, arguably, even the new blade advanced. If Razer were officially discontinuing the blade pro, we would and should expect an announcement from them stating such. Lack of transparency with consumers causes a breach of trust and leads to brand disloyalty. Some of us are still holding out for a refreshed pro, because while it may cost that of a decent used car, some of us require the pro's kind of power for productivity, and the older blade pros have delivered on that in the past where the blade 14 and 15 have missed the mark. Some of us need more than a "Blade Advanced" because we do more than casual hobby gaming. Nobody drops $5k+ on a laptop for only Fortnite and Call of Duty.

I agree, however both fn and cod are lame. Would use my BP for productivity.

Yeah I mean that's the primary driving reason for BP shoppers. Most use them for graphically-intensive work like professional photo/video editing, CAD, animation/rendering, etc; all things I wouldn't feel quite comfortable doing on a blade 15.

100% agree with you. Am more of your preference and an avid 17 inch user based. Its probably the only product category where there are any unlikely 17 inch like normal looking modern machine. Truth is they only based on profit that determines by majority with the market demand.

Yes and not only that, its the only kind of 17 inch machine that does not breaks your back. Perfect for us as well as multimedia play and work that able to make full use of a larger screen estate/.

There are more demand on the blade 15 than the pro thats why. If there are competitors, nobody give a damn about Razer !

Yep. Let's hope Razer actually sees this and acknowledges that there is still considerable demand for a new Blade Pro.
I am returning my Blade 15 with a 2080 because I want a Pro with 4K, 17” Screen, and RTX. It’s what I truly want and need for work and games. I will wait. Your move, Razer!
Also returned my Blade 15 GTX1070MQ gen 1 a few months back.
I'm waiting for a laptop with a less neutered RTX2070/2080 (hopefully non Max-Q) with 17 inch 4K touch screen, or 1440p with high refresh (1080p at 17.3 in. simply isn't enough). Windows Hello should come standard with a better camera (my 2018 Blade 15 had a way worse camera compared to my 2014 MSI GS60), and hopefully there will be a fingerprint sensor this time.

I don't care about the price nearly as much as what options and features the new Blade Pro will have. I do think there is still a large demand, since the release of the new Pro, if meeting these expectations, combined with the usual Razer build and size, would be one of a kind.
If they have the same manufactures for the making of the 17.3 inch displays from the previous 2017 Razer Blade Pro, then No.
I hope they get a new manufacture for their displays on Razer Blade Pro 2019. The screens on the 2017 4k model Razer Blade Pro are aweful. I have owned a Razer blade Pro 2017 4k since late December of 2018 and I have yet to get a working display without noticeable backlight bleed and/or noticeable white and black stuck or dead pixels. Hope Razer fixes this quality control issue.
Might post a new thread or add to the old thread that I created about 2 weeks ago about Razer Blade Pro 2017 display quality control.
I have been lugging around a 2017 Pro 4k since August 2017. I guess that I got lucky becuase my screen is spot on great. I have no issues with the perfromance since I game a little and mainly use it for video editing. The 32GB of RAM is wonderful. I would complain about the weight and little battery life, but I knew that when I bought it. For me, I would like a newer CPU and GPU, but in reality the only thing that I would really want is a bigger screen. I just measured and a 19" screen could fit.

19in screen on the Razer Blade Pro 4k would be super cool!! Not sure if I'm going to be buying anymore of Razer's products though until my current Blade Pro gets a 'good' screen. Sent my laptop twice to the Razer Repair Center and after all that I'm still having screen issues.
Also, what's your opinion on the Razer's new square laptop design? I prefer the older generation blade look, 2017 and before but I haven't bought a new 2018-19 Razer Blade 15 yet.

As for the square design, I really like it. The rounded design looks like my old MacBook and that is OK. If I had to buy a new laptop right now, I would most likely get the high end Razer 15". The longer battery life would be nice when I am not working on stuff that needs a lot of power and the less weight would be nice. I love my Pro, and do not regret buying it, but I am still living with the short battery life and the weight. After 18 months of ownership, I find for myself, that a 15” would have worked out for mobile and the dock station and home for power usage.

At my house, we have a lot of Razer laptops. Both kids have 12" Stealth laptops, my wife has the 13.3" Stealth (great computer by the way), and my dad has my old 2015 14" Blade. We have two work stations with Cores and 34" wide monitors for when people need extra processing power.

The Razer Blade 15 does sounds very appealing to me, especially the new design. I'm not too much of a fan of the new design but if I use a Razer Blade 15 more, I might think the exact opposite about the design.
Also, I have quite a dilema in progress. Sense the Razer Blade Pro is aging a little bit, and since I can't get a satisfactory display with mine, I was thinking of sell my Razer Blade Pro and use the money to get a Razer Blade 15 Mercury White Edition with gtx 1060 or rtx 2060. Do you think I should keep my Blade Pro and try to get a good display, or sell the Razer Blade Pro and get a Blade 15 Mercury White Edition, or sell the Blade Pro and wait for the next Razer Blade Pro (2019?) version to hit the shelves.
Thank you for your input on the last few posts. Your posts has helped me find my ideal ultimate laptop to own. CHEERS!

I do not know exactly how you use your laptop, so I can only state what I would do. I keep going back and forth on what I want to do. Yes, the Pro is getting a bit “long” in the tooth, but seriously, it is still a power machine. (i7, 32GB RAM, 1TB in Raid 0, and the 1080 are all still high end) When I use my Pro, I love it. As a light weight desktop with a 3-4 hour built in UPS, it is wonderful. As an use while mobile laptop, it is heavy with short battery life. My original goal was to keep my Pro is 5+ years and I can still see myself doing that. What I question is selling the Pro and getting the Blade 15”. I have always loved the 15” screen size. I find the smaller screens hard to use and the bigger being heavy. My next laptop will be in 15”. I just do not know when that will be. If I had to get a laptop now, I would get the 15” over the Pro. With a Core and dual 34” monitors, it almost feels like I have a laptop and desktop that share a hard drive.

If you are not happy with the screen, then there is not much you can do. I am sure that Razer will keep swapping them out, but who knows if it will ever be addressed.

Good luck with your decision.

Thank you for your input Brastic. My decision for keeping the blade pro will come down to Razer swapping out the panel for the 5th time, and the possibility of the Blade 15 getting an OLED display in the coming future. I've sent my blade pro to Razer Repair Center today so time will tell. In the meantime, while my blade pro is away, I've been putting plenty of hours into my blade stealth + Razer Core v2 + gtx 1080. I'm getting quite used to the small screen size which is why having an all around balance of power and mobility (Blade 15) is starting to become more appealing than having a power house like the blade pro. As for the longevity of the blade pro, I was also going to stretch my use of the laptop to about 4 to 6 years max until I sell the laptop for cheap or keep the laptop as a family computer.

Personally, I wouldn't have bought one until the 9th gen CPUs come out, which seems to be any day now...

If new CPUs are coming out soon, then I might as well wait and see the reviews. Can't wait for a boost in clock speeds or a more efficient cpu chips for better battery life. I'm hoping the Mercury White editions gets into the more expensive versions of the Razer Blade 15 and then down to the Razer Blade Stealth 13 and maybe the big 17 Razer Blade Pro ( if Razer makes those anymore ).
Soon is a relative term, but the latest info I could find pegs them coming out in May...
