    Hey everyone!
I'm currently looking for a new ultrabook for university and daily driver (so without the Core) and after a decent amount of browsing, reading and watching reviews, my top pick for my needs would probably be the new RBS QHD 256GB SSD. However by reading the forums I saw a lot of people complaining about a lot of things/problems. So I wanted to know from the Stealth users out there: How was your experience with this laptop? Did you have any issues and if yes, were they addressed by Razer and solved? Would you recommend it to me and others? Any things I should know before buying it if i'm going to use it for university as a daily driver?
Thanks in advance for your constructive (!) contributions.

    Hey there,
I'm currently an engineering student at an university, so I guess we are in the similar situation.
Got my Blade Stealth QHD 256GB now for around 4 months and I really love it. Especially for daily usage. Because of it's small size and weight it fits in nearly any backpack and on every desk, while still having enough space for pen and paper. I'm currently getting 6-8 hours of battery(depending on how you are using it), so I always get through the day without caring about recharging it. In most cases I only recharge it once every 3-4 days(Workload : Browsing, Textediting, Visual Studio, etc). And even if you have higher workload, the charger itself is really small so it's no big deal to take it with you to be "safe". Also there is an upcoming Razer Powerbank for the Stealth.

The 256GB are(imo) more than enough for a daily driver and I still got more than 100 free with Visual Studio(+most of the extensions) and other development tools installed. Also there is always a way to upgrade the ssd yourself, if it's getting to small. It's still kinda unknown if that voids your warranty or doesn't, so I wouldn't recommend it.

The only problem I had was the coil-whining, but this was fixed with an bios update around 2 weeks ago.

i've had my gen1 for about a year now, use it every day for studying. never had any issues. battery life isn't great, but it at least hasn't diminished in the first year. overall definitely the best laptop i've had, so a thumbs up from me

I've had my blade stealth for about 6 months. Its been great and has to be my favorite laptop of all time and I've jumped between macbooks and ultra portable laptops. My only complaint is that I don't use it often enough. :big_grin_:

there is now the New New razer blade stealth with larger display but same overall size
it is better than the original or the upgraded one
as you may know there is now 3 version of the blade stealth: the very Original one, and the early 2017 7500U version
and I believe 2 days ago they announce the latest version 13.3 display version

I have the first version I pre-order it and I love it so far you won't regret your choice, however there were some issues as with any new release but the support was super cool
now I am looking at the latest one and my eyes all tears
this is the thing with laptops the newer they are the sexier they look

How do you update the the bios on the razer blade? I have the original original one with skylake. The coil whine and fan curve is so annoying.

You gonna have to check on the support side of your device, if there are any bios updates available. http://www.razersupport.com/gaming-systems Just pick your Blade and check if they listed any updates :)

There is an update for the Kabe lake not the skylake, @acedragon911 meant the Original stealth the one with the 6500U
I have the Original stealth too and there is noise coming from the laptop but unfortunately there is no BIOS update for that, but I don't mind :)

So? I told him to check if there are any updates for his device:
You should always read the post of someone closely, before trying to correct him.

I got the brand new razer blade stealth with the larger screen 13.3" and I ran into the coil whine straight out of the box. I was able to quite it down*, but hopefully a BIOS update will fix this like it fixed the previous versions of the blade stealth. The new one runs smooth and fast and gets a solid 9 hours of battery life. The screen upgrade is worth it if you have a little extra cash.

*The "fix" I got was turning down the max cpu in my power management plan to anyone that was curious

I would love to get that exact model but the problem is It is perpetually out of stock in Australia. There are also 0 resellers that sell it! Is there anything I can do but wait?

I have the late 2016 Kaby Lake RBS and despite some minor issues I still love it.

First issue was a constant cycle of reboots that was caused by the power button getting stuck in a depressed manner. Quick and easy fix for with help from customer service.

Second issue was a little bit larger due to the screen completely going out on me. RMA'd it and they replaced the screen and had it back to me in a week.

I've had good luck working with customer service and I love my RBS.

Hi, I will get my stealth (second hand) this weekend. It's Kabylake late 2016 model, I think same as your version just the 128gb one. I heard also there's a Bios update that address the coil whines issues. But now there's no systems support for stealth in above address, it shows only systems until 2014. I hope they update the website, or they manage to update it somehow through synapse update?

    Hi guys,

I am a real newbie here. Just got my hand on latest Blade Stealth 13", but apparently my touchscreen have an issue, whenever the screen turned off after some idle time and I turned the screen back on, the screen was "touched" by itself. I did some googling on this issue and it appears that it might be on software issue. I tried to calibrate the touch screen, reinstall the touch screen in device manager, reinstall the windows, and even tried to do the factory reset, but the issue still there.

Does anyone ever experience this kind of issue?

    Thank you.

Yea, seems like you now have to go to http://support.razerzone.com/gaming-laptops and make sure that your region is set to US. Otherwise you aren't able to see the support page for all new devices.
