hopefully you made an image copy and saved it somewhere and just restore from there if you need to. When you used acronis, did you backup all partitions?

I tried Macrium Reflex free and it worked perfectly!

Does anyone have any idea why my stealth won't read a new ssd? Bought a 950 pro, took out the original and replaced with the pro, and when I try to recover my backups, the ssd doesn't show up. It also doesn't show up in the bios. I took the ssd back earlier today and got a replacement just in case but the new one does the same thing. If I put the original ssd in it boots right up and shows up in the bios, I'm lost. Any ideas?

What backup software are you using? It should read just fine unless you aren't putting it in correctly.

I had a problem as well when I did it. I had to initialize it first before it would show up

Wifininja how did you initialize it? I've tried acronis, haven't tried the other one yet. I just didn't know if the computer isn't reading the ssd or I'm doing something wrong. As far as inserting it correctly, I'm sure I put it in right

You may want to try something like gparted to get a partition on the drive first that may help with the issue of it not showing up, Acronis was honestly not that great. Macrium is free and works way better for what your trying to do.

I'll give macrium a shot tomorrow then,
I was concerned because acronis wouldn't even find the drive and it wouldn't come up in the bios

Hey guys update on my situation. Macrium worked like a charm, now i just need to figure out how to use AOMEI to fix the missing storage, but at least i got the new ssd installed and recovered.

Don't listen to them, you can upgrade it. Heres a tutorial:

EDIT: Saw a guy posted it already. Sooooo

It's easy. Just merge the partitions. :smile_:

I like DIY projects like this. Usually I wait until the computer is a little older in its life cycle to do it so I don't get too nervous about messing something up and throwing cash out the window. Thanks for the videos and tips!

Usually I do as well, especially when it's $1k ultra book, but 128gb just wasn't enough for me to bother setting it up and getting a bigger size from razer just didn't make sense financially. So I took this thing apart literally as soon as I unwrapped it lol.

Im sure it will be possible to upgrade it however it may void your warranty. Depends on how much risk you wan't to take... maybe wait a few months after having it.

  20. So you aren't doing a clean install from a bootable USB with Windows 10? That's my plan, but if course I need to wait until late March for the machine to arrive!
