UPDATE 7PM PDT: We've unlocked the thread to allow for an early block of questions to ensure as many questions get tended to as possible. Do note, Min will be available and answering from 8PM to 9PM.

UPDATE 8PM PDT: We have CEO Min-Liang Tan with us right now. Let's get the AMA started.

UPDATE 9PM PDT: Thank you everyone for taking part - Min would be rushing off to a Chinajoy meeting. We'll try to get more questions answered in the meantime.

UPDATE: 9:05PM: Our new Director of Sales, Matt will take over on some replies. Do keep the questions coming. We'll be hiding answered replies to clean the clutter.

UPDATE: 10:30PM: Thank you everyone! We hope we've got to most questions (we'll continue to answer over the next day if time permits). Do continue to stick around on Razer Insider and chat with our gamers - and to our new OUYA community, welcome to Razer.

We’ve recently welcomed OUYA to the Razer fold and we’re excited to receive the awesome OUYA community at Razer. We’re all in here for the love of games and we look forward to having a great time with everyone on Razer Insider.

We will have our Chief Gamer & CEO @Min-Liang Tan with us on July 30 at 8PM PDT , and he will be answering any questions relating to the future of OUYA and the Razer Forge TV.

How it is going to work on Razer Insider here is that,
    • Liking a post here will vote it up the comment order and give it visibility. This means that if it is a question you’d like see answered do give it a like.
    • We will try to answer as many questions from as many different users as we can. Do refrain from repeating the same questions, if someone else had asked it earlier, drop the question a like to bring it to the top of the list.
    • The AMA will run from 8PM PDT to 9PM PDT.
    • Common posting etiquette apply.

We'll be announcing that when the integration of OUYA's platform (to be renamed as Cortex TV) is ready on the Forge TV which will be sometime in Q4 2015.

We'll be keeping the lights on for the current OUYA service for the existing boxes (which should apply also to your console credit). You can continue to purchase games there with your console credit.

When we migrate to the new Cortex TV, we'll do what we can to see if we can migrate the console credits too - but that's something we need to evaluate technically to see if it's feasible, so no promises.

For the Forge TV, sideloading of apps will be subject to the way Android TV is architected by Google as we're running Android TV on it.

We hope so! We'll do what we can to enable the Cortex TV game store to be available on other Android TV devices, but that's subject to how the 3rd party companies allow us to do so. We believe in openness - and we hope everyone else does too!

We didn't acquire the OUYA hardware business and we don't provide any support for it. However, out of goodwill, we're keeping the lights on for the next 12 months or so for the software services associated with it. That much said (from what I know of the device) , as a hardware device, the OUYA HW box should still work standalone without the services to run the apps already on it.

We'll do what we can to support the developers to do it - but at the end of the day, it's the choice of the developer and OUYA will work toward enabling it. But yes - that's the vision.

We didn't acquire the hardware business of OUYA and we're keeping the lights on for the next couple of months out of goodwill to the users. I'm not aware of the specifics of each game and probably can't comment on them, but to the best extent of our ability, we'll try to get as many games/accounts migrated across to the Forge TV.

We're still working this out in the backend and should have more information when we're ready to launch the new Cortex TV store on Forge.

Nope - OUYA will be a publishing arm moving forward. Forge will be the name of the console.

Cortex TV will be a store on the Forge TV. OUYA will be a publisher of games to stores like Cortex TV, Google Play, XiaoMi, Alibaba etc.

We acquired a portion of the assets of OUYA - basically only the store platform and the publishing business. I'm not aware of their plans for the hardware.

Yes - we made the decision not be a bunch of assholes and keep the content for ourselves. We believe in openness (like the work we do on OSVR etc) and we wanted to get the games to be on as many platforms as possible.

I'm not sure I understand this question actually - if it's the website, yup, we'll get that updated at some point!

    Yes.

We're working on trying to get the accounts migrated (to the best of our ability) but not all content may be transferred (though we'll do whatever we can to do so) - the transfer will be to a Cortex account.

Get in touch with the OUYA publishing team! :)

No. We don't have any insight of the hardware (or underlying software) and probably wouldn't be able to do so without significant reverse engineering work.

Cortex TV is slated for Q4 '15 for the Forge TV and we're working on Netflix at this time and should have an update shortly.

We'll have more detailed submission information/processes when we're ready to announce them but the goal is to get polished games on the Cortex TV store so that our users will have a great experience with the games.

Thank you for joining the AMA! :)
