I just think it is interesting that someone after missing out on a 50% off sale that is extremely temporary, limited and not at all required by the vendor thinks, "is this illegal?" Honestly that type of thinking blows me away. For me it would be more of I ordered a keyboard and received a brick in the mail as a start of "is this illegal?" thought process. Do they send you faulty product with zero warranty or money back...something like that. Just crazy.

And yet you attacked Americans, right from the start, and rather than accept that maybe your "opinion" on Americans is wrong due to it being based on a lack of knowledge (nothing you said was correct), you continued to attack Americans.. (funny how YOU are the only person on the entire board I accused even though a lot of people have "contradicting opinions" to me.. funny that...). So, yea... Whatever.

As for you only wanting to "inform" people. If that was the case you would not have thrown in an attack on Americans, you would have done it in a less rant-like manner, and you would have been more accepting when people pointed out facts that contradicted your conclusions (like the fact that there are 2 requirements under the bait advertising rule that this sale does not fit in and therefore does not qualify as bait advertising). You didn't come here to inform.. you came here to rant because you are angry at not getting in on the sale. And I understand that.. been there, done that. The internet is a popular place to do that.

I will agree on one thing.. this is pointless. Your attack on Americans had nothing to do with this sale or your opinion on if it broke the law or not. You should not have made that statement at all. And I should have just let it slide.. offensive and ignorant it may be.. I really should have just ignored it like everyone else did and stopped at just pointing out the facts as to why this sale did not break the law.(funny how you just ignored that part)... For everyone else on this board.. I apologize. Sorry that I let him get to me folks.

Excluding Europeans from the sale would free up stock for everyone else. Let's all support protecting them from the unspeakable horrors of first come, first serve sales ;)
  4. I gotta say, it's pretty sad that your response to someone offering you a 50% off coupon is saying what they are doing is ethically wrong. :\

The sale was popular. Unless you can prove Razer purposely decreased stock numbers for the sale, to create this "bait and switch" situation you're describing, you should be thankful they offered you the chance to buy something at a discount at all. Even more so that you'll get a second chance.

For note: I didn't get anything in the sale. My codes were switched and what I wanted sold out from under me. Am I upset? Not even one bit. I wouldn't even have been able to buy something if it weren't for the sale.

It's people like you that ruin things like this for everyone else. You didn't get what you wanted, and now you try to equate this to some ethical wrongdoing which might stop something like this from ever happening again.

    And folks...

Here we have, in plain and easy English, why the EU is so messed up.(EDIT: I apologize for this remark. See below.)

Go ahead with your complaint. Don't be surprised if you never see another sale in EU, ever.

It boggles the mind that a nice gesture like this is met with such, for lack of a better word, stupidity. By the way, I'm married to a lawyer...

The sale was clearly stated to be limited to in stock quantities, whatever that may be. I bought and had shipped a Razer Deathstalker Ultimate, so clearly they sold at least one item. That's all they needed to do.

    Enjoy your petty life.

Reloader, please do not lump us all together as if the EU is bad. It is just a select few individuals who make posts like these and insult other countries.

Being from the Netherlands and thus the eu i fully appreciated this sale and with me i am sure there are many other Europeans that do as well.

The EU in general has the same laws as the usa, heck in most cases US law is simply copied or based on European laws.

There was simply nothing wrong with this sale, it was stated to be limited stock, extensive traffic and everyone had an equal chance to get an item.

Simply appreciate you have been given the opportunity to participate in a 50% of deal. I know i do.

You are right, and my apologies Syrellaris (and all other EU Razer brethren). I am just ashamed that a fellow human reacted in such a way to a kind offer.

OP: Consumer rights? In what way were your "consumer rights" affected?

Well if I had been able to get something from the sale, I wouldn't have experienced the mess that is this sale, so my perspective would have been different. That's just stating the obvious. And it wasn't even a question of being late, I was sitting ready even before 3am rolled around. And that's the exact thing I'm protesting with this thread. It wasn't even a matter of being on time, being on time did nothing.

I feel that if they want to do a lottery, they should do an actual lottery. Make people make tickets then use those tickets to enter a competition for freebies.
Instead of this mess. What you're getting now is a lottery where you pay for the items you "win". But thanks for the wonderful gift Razer!

  10. reloader-1, you shouldn't offend other people in this forum. Even if it was because you were in a bad mood or angry, but especially then you should reconsider twice posting such a statement. It's just not appropriate. And sorry for my plain and easy english, I'm also from EU.

Ok, I'll pretend you aren't trolling.

Razer announced a sale, it was first come, first serve. Whatever was "in-stock" was fair game.

YOU chose to participate, and you lost. Your connection was slow, you didn't try the other code and hundreds of others (including me) figured quickly that something was wrong with the initial code, and succeeded.

You invested NOTHING but time, of your own free accord. You wanted a Razer product at 50% off, and so did everyone else. The net result is there are winners and losers, and you lost.

It is not a lottery of any sort, and your precious “rights” have not been harmed. You can buy the product whenever you want, at the market price.

Completely correct. I have since apologized and edited my original post, leaving the original comment in order to not confuse people following the thread.

I'll give you the pleasure of replying to you once more but then I am done with trying to converse with you. You obviously want to get me to yell at you, boo Americans boo! Funny how you are still attacking my persona. Whatever you think my opinion on Americans is, is rather faulty. I have been to the USA plenty and I have always come back saying how pleasant people are there. There are always the couple of grumps ofcourse..
More often than not, Americans are quite hostile towards EACHOTHER, actually. Go to Florida and people will rant about people in NY. Go to New York, they will rant about Californians, etc. I'm guessing that's how you picked up your hostility.

No matter, no, I don't hate Americans. Well, that would be lying. I don't hate ALL Americans. I strongly dislike Americans who think they rule above all others, who think they're always right and don't have a cricital mind. But the same count for "the bunch of Europeans", as if we're a category to be lumped in. I like to think of myself to be quite well spoken in that I always think before I say. I look at it from one way, then another. Then I turn it around and try to see it in even more ways.
I have been raised to speak my mind but to listen too. I have not been raised, on the other hand, to call other children names to get everyone to listen to me and prove I'm right. I like a discussion but yelling is just childish.

What I'm trying to say is you're pointing at me and going "OH LOOK! You hate Americans! You bigot piece of shit, look everyone! She hates us!" is just sad. What am I? A terrorist? You don't know me, you don't know the person that I am. If you'd like a list of things I like and hate, just let me know.

I'll suggest to agree to disagree. There is no right or wrong in this, only opinions.
I'm not countering your arguments because there is no point. You'll just find another word that proves I'm apparently so very loatheful towards "you Americans".
By yelling at me, you're just telling me to shut my mouth and keep my opinion to myself.
I'm sorry but it just doesn't work that way. Oh, and you let HER get to you, apparently.

@Nejona you do realize that such hostility is quite normal in Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany etc as well? If I go to Amsterdam I'm sure I'll hear people complain about groningers, or if I go to Groningen i will hear people complaining about those from the west. Etc. So that comment is rather mute and pointless.

Anyway, I do not know what you were trying to buy from razer, but i can assure you that not everything was sold out 5 hours to 6 hours after the sale started. I bought my orbweaver from the European store at around 7.30 am dutch time. Sure the blackwidow ultimate chroma was out of stock at the time and so was the leviathan but most keyboards weren't.
