I am encountering two problems with connected peripherals, mouse and keyboard, via USB ports on the Razer Core. The system I am using via thunderbolt 3 is the Intel Skull Canyon NUC.

    1. Mouse cursor freezes every few seconds
    2. Most keyboard inputs don't come through

    • As far as I can tell Ethernet has been working fine (an online speed test didn't appear to hitch and had high speeds)
    • My mouse and keyboard work fine when plugged in to the computer directly
    • USB Flash drive worked on usb as expected
    • I'm not getting device disconnect notifications

Has anyone else encountered similar issues with the usb hub functionality?

It might have to do with the driver that is installed in your Pc.
A problem that, as far as I know, will be fixed as time goes on and the manufactures begin to adapt to the external GPU thing ^^

maybe your NUC should be updated its BIOS soon. every laptop w/ TB3 from other manufacturers are suffered from same problem.
  7. I have the same exact issue. RBS+Core+1080

the problem gets worse when I go external monitor only through the core.

Same issue here. RBS+core+960. Issue stops if i turn back on the stealth display - running with 2 external monitors.
  9. So I updated my stealth drivers. The laggy inputs were cut in half. But now after about 10 mins I will get a bsod. If I unhook the stealth it functions normally. So it had to be a core/gpu/driver issue.

I have the RBS with Nvidia 1070 FE. I'm having similar problems. The mouse freezes for a few seconds every few minutes and the keyboard appears to lose power - the chroma lighting goes off and it is unresponsive for a second or two. The lights come back on and it works again.

In addition I'm seeing video stuttering in windows 10 and World of Warcraft. WOW framerate is reporting 60+fps but the video and movement feels like is is 12 fps.

When I log off windows the windows "circle" animation stutters until the last few seconds then it smooths out.

  11. This sounds exactly like my issue. My chroma keyboard will go off. The Windows disconnect sound dings. Than a reconnect windows ding will go off and the keyboard will turn back on. My mouse will also periodically just freeze until I unplug and replug the mouse back in.

OK update on my situation. The system hasn't been stable as I have upgraded the SSD and changed out the graphics card to a Zotac GTX 1070....

What I have found to work is using a USB 3.0 hub hooked directly to the Stealth. I haven't had a single keyboard, mouse, or OS freeze since. I've put about two hours of gaming in.

Tomorrow I'm going to connect all the usb items back to the Core and see if I get the issue again.

On the video stutter: If I run world of warcraft in "Windowed Fullscreen" mode when connected to dual monitors I have horrible video lag. If I run in Fullscreen there is no video lag.

There is definitely an issue when running USB keyboard and mouse through the Core. I'm going to go to support with this and the video stuttering issue.

Just got my core today and I'm seeing the same issue. Everything will work fine for a stretch but then the keyboard will start dropping keys or do about a dozen copies of a single key press. This will happen for about 10 seconds, then it will be fine for another 10 seconds to a minute before it starts up again. When it happens, the lighting on the keyboard including the numlock light will flicker. It took me about 5 minutes to write this post because of the issue.

I'm running a Razer Blade Stealth with a Razer Core holding a Nvidia GeForce GTX 750 Ti.

Until there is a fix I've connected all the USB peripherals to a hub connected directly to the Stealth. Smooth as silk and no drops / repeated characters / mouse freeze.

    Case 00856872 opened with support.

Seeing the same thing guys. I have a Razer Blade 2016 with Core + 1070 founders edition. I'm seeing lag when I click on the start button in windows or when I do basic things like look at the Notification Center. I am using 3 of the 4 USB ports and the Ethernet port. That would suck if this is because of the USB ports.

I just unplugged all the USB ports and Ethernet port and Windows is still choppy/laggy. Ugggh.,.

I think that is because the 1 thunderbolt USB C is now supporting 3 other USB functionalities? Hence the lag and stutter? Just a hunch.

That was my thought but I unplugged everything except the HDMI connected to my graphics card Windows is still choppy.

Update 3: They want it sent back.

Thank you for contacting Razer Systems Support. My name is Alex, and I will be assisting you today. I understand that you Razer Core has intermittent connection issues with the USB devices connected to it, while the issue is not occurring on your Blade Stealth. I apologize over the issue. Based on what you have described, it is best if you send in your Core to us for an inspection. Please fill up the form below, and I will process your service request.
Based on the rather generic RMA I'm guessing they are doing a field recall to try to figure out what is going on. I'm continuing to troubleshoot some fairly simple things:
    • Turn off Chroma lighting for all USB devices. Issue experienced.
    • Connect all USB devices to Core. Issue experienced.
    • Connect keyboard to Stealth and all others to Core. No issues.
    • Connect keyboard to Core and all others to Stealth. Issue experienced.
I'm wondering if anyone else can replicate no issues when the keyboard is connected to the PC and everything else to the Core... If so I think we have a target for investigation and I'll update my ticket.
