Razer Core Release

  1. I have been perusing the threads here and have seen some people saying that the "next wave" of Core orders will probably ship around mid may. Having what the CEO recently said about ship dates being in the next 30-60 days in mind, was there a previous wave of Core pre-orders? When will the next wave come? When will the next wave ship?

I will be ordering the Blade (2016) in the next couple weeks and do not need the core immediately (just found out my AMD 7900 series won't work with it), but I would like to know just when it will be shipping (College purposes).

    Cheers

I would also like to know the answer to this question, I already missed the first wave, I'd rather not wear out the F5 button on my keyboard scouting for wave 2. If there's a more approximate time than "in the next 60 days" I'd really appreciate the heads-up.

Edit: I also feel like this should be a separate thread / discussion - since a lot of of the other threads revolve around price, features, discounts, etc. All we want to know if approximate timing of the next pre-order / order window.

I am on that waiting list also. I have the coupon ready to use too. Would be a bummer if I missed the next opportunity and it expires.

Rather than a "notify" wouldn't it be more prudent to have just a pre-order taken? That would prevent any worry from the coupon expiring (which I'm not actually worried about), however it would also let Razer better know the demand and be more accommodating.

I do find it to be in bad taste to allow new orders to presumably claim the first wave of the core, as us early adopters have to wait since we had to stall to wait for the arrival of the discount code.

The release should have been preempted by the initial release of the email allowing for the stealth owners to get their orders in, and then take pre-orders for the next wave.

    However, what's done is done.

I managed to snag a pre-order before they changed to notify. I didn't have a chance to apply my discount code but honestly right now the way things are going I think I am just going to eat the 100 dollars. Rather then cancel the order and reapply it. Just wish they would ship things separately rather then have everything waiting on the core, as of right now I won't get anything till after the 15th. I know I shouldn't complain but waiting is killing me.

totally agree. Was a bummer our code didn't arrive until after it had already sold out. Let's get some pre-ordering going on! Will save me sanity and time from constantly checking the razer store.

Allowing the new buyers the core though ups sales, so I can understand why it's being done. But I too agree it's in poor taste to the rest of us early adopters.

I find it baffling that Razer hasn't addressed, let alone acknowledged, the giant mess that was sending out codes after pre-orders opened.

To spite loyal customers like that...

To give some background, I've purchased 6 Razer Blades, 6 Razer Edges, and two Stealths. (In case you are wondering, I am including returned items, and I bought and sold Edges for a bit on eBay).

Based on a response I had received from Razer after opening a ticket relating to the Core was that they weren't expecting it to sell out hours after posting it for sale.

Since when has a Razer system NOT been sold out within hours?

Hey I'm just repeating what was told to me. I am in no way saying I am a fan of that or condone having my chance of getting the core early botched due to late emails.

They tried to stop it from selling out by putting a ridiculous price on it they thought nobody would pay. :big_grin_:

No worries! I know you were just repeating what you heard, but that has to be the worst marketing response ever.

Kind of odd that a pre-order not shipping for a month would sell out though. Does it take them longer than a month to build this thing? You'd think they can just up the order on how many to make based on the pre-orders.

Do you really think that supply chain management is this easy? I am going to step out on a limb here and say that I really believe that the employees of Razer really want to build and ship all of the products that they can. I bet that there is a group of people in the back offices at Razer to are exhausted, and keep going to get product out the door because they believe in the prodcut. If it was really easy to build these products, there would be more like them out there for much less money. I know if sucks to wait for a product, but I cannot blame Razer for not trying or just sitting around.

What are the dimensions of the Razer Core?

Do you seriously not know how to use Google?

It's a tech product. All tech products have a fairly good trend of giving dimensions. Go to the product page on the Razer website, or the item page on the Razer store. It's there...

Or they only sold limited the stock to 25...

This is a legitimate strategy to increase hype and demand.
